A local area detection and alerting system (LDAS) for detecting potential GNSS spoofing within a protected airspace includes a ground-based control station and several RF interference (RFI) control stations spaced to define the protected airspace. Each RFI control station includes two or more reference GNSS signal receivers in communication with two or more reception (Rx) antennas, each antenna having a surveyed true location and distinct height. The reference receivers continually determine GNSS-derived absolute positions of each antenna, which are compared to their true locations to determine if GNSS spoofing is responsible for measurement anomalies. Any detection of potential spoofing is forwarded to the control station, which broadcasts regular LDAS updates indicating the presence or absence of potential spoofing to all aircraft operating within a transmission range surrounding the protected airspace.

A system and method for interference detection. The system and method receives flight data comprising a plurality of flights. The system and method identifies a plurality of signal drop events based on at least the flight data. The system and method determines one or more co-located signal drop event subsets based on at least the plurality of signal drop events and filter criteria. The system and method determines one or more interference events based on the one or more co-located signal drop event subsets, wherein each of the one or more co-located signal drop event subsets is based on at least two or more of the plurality of signal drop events.

System and method for airborne GNSS RF interference detection

A system for time synchronization over redundant switch-based avionics networks is disclosed. The system includes a master or source clock for determining precise UTC timing information from received satellite signals and generating time marks based on the timing information. The source clock generates network-compatible timing messages and forwards the timing messages to network switches within the switch-based avionics networks. The network switches modify the timing information to account for switch-based delays and forward the modified timing messages to destination clocks in aircraft end systems. The end systems relay timing messages back to the source clock via the network switches, the timing information again modified by the network switches according to switch-based delays, and based on the precise timing information exchanged destination clocks in end systems throughout the switched network can precisely synchronize to the source clock.

A system for monitoring GNSS interference and/or spoofing includes a display device, and a receiver device to receive an incoming radio frequency (RF) satellite signal from a satellite vehicle. The receiver device includes a processor, and computer-readable storage media communicably coupled to the processor. The computer-readable storage media has instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to receive an incoming RF signal, determine that the incoming RF signal is unreliable, generate detection data in response to detecting that the incoming RF signal is unreliable, and broadcast the detection data.

Systems and methods for real-time GNSS interference monitoring

The present invention is a method for dynamically determining a blended navigation solution for a mobile platform (ex.&#x2014;aircraft) via a receiver implemented on-board the platform. In the method disclosed herein, the receiver concurrently utilizes data from satellite signals obtained from a plurality of independent satellite constellations in calculating its (the receiver's) navigation solution (ex.&#x2014;Position, Velocity, Time (PVT) solution), thereby overcoming weaknesses inherent in currently available systems and methods, which rely on only a single satellite constellation.

The universal channel may include complex correlators configured to correlate digital samples associated with one or more ranging signals utilizing primary, sub-carrier, and/or secondary codes. The universal tracking system may further include a navigation processor configured to determine location utilizing tracking data received from one or more universal channels.

The disclosed invention embodies a system and method for multi-sensor, multi-frequency, multi-constellation data integration providing integrated onboard positioning of a vehicle. Multiple correlators perform autonomous signal quality monitoring to avoid the need for external augmentation systems. The integrated method and system typically includes multi-constellation, multi-channel GNSS and may consider positioning information from one or more other positioning resources including onboard, airborne, and ground-based signals. The positioning information from these functions are used in combination to exclude an erroneous signal from consideration while providing an integrated, blended precision positioning solution with improved size, weight, power and cost characteristics. The system utilizes a plurality of positioning signals from multiple GNSS constellations on multiple channels correlated with ground-based, airborne, and onboard positioning signals to determine a hierarchy of positioning signals used in accurate positioning without the need for differential correction provided by offboard augmentation.

Low-cost high integrity integrated multi-sensor precision navigation system

In one embodiment, a correlator of a global positioning system receiver in a global positioning system receives a sample satellite signal. The correlator includes a signal comparator configured to receive the sample signal, a first normalized estimate signal, and a second normalized estimate signal. The signal comparator generates a first accumulated output and a second accumulated output. The first accumulated output represents the integration of a correlation of the sample signal and the first normalized estimate signal. The second accumulated output represents the integration of a correlation of the sample signal and the second normalized estimate signal. Using time-multiplexing, the high speed of a digital signal processing core is leveraged to perform calculations of the signal comparator and threshold comparator in real time.
