A first diaphragm which forms a wall of a first pump chamber is provided in the double diaphragm pump according to the invention, wherein the first diaphragm can be moved by means of a first driving means. In addition, a second diaphragm which forms a wall of a second pump chamber is provided, wherein the second diaphragm can be moved by means of a second driving means. What is more, a control for the driving means is provided, said control being designed and operable such that it controls the two driving means subject to one or a plurality of conditions.

Double diaphragm pump

A pumping device () by which fluids held in a reservoir tank () can be pumped to a spray gun () in a metered manner, with a piston rod () mounted in a housing () in axially movable fashion, with a reciprocating piston () attached thereto, with a piston () connected to the piston rod () and moved between a first and a second housing sections (), first and second pressure spaces (') enclosed with the two housing sections (), two pressure lines (&#x2032;) in each of the housing sections () such that emerge into one of the pressure spaces (&#x2032; or&#x2032;), a working medium () pressed through pressure lines (&#x2032;) alternately into a pressure space, by means of which the piston () is driven, with a diaphragm a central area () connected to the piston rod (), and its outer area () connected to the housing (), and a flexible ring area () between the central and outer areas (), and a pumping space () enclosed by the diaphragm () and the housing (), into which the fluid is alternately sucked in or pressed out towards the spray gun () by the axial movement of the piston (), to determine the sealing status of the diaphragm () so as to prevent contamination passing between the fluid () and hydraulic oil (), a control space () formed between a housing section () and a diaphragm (), and can be monitored.

Pumping device

In a diaphragm pump with two diaphragms disposed in a pump housing and actuated by an adjusting piston which can be acted on alternately and which is arranged in between the diaphragms, the diaphragms are fixed with curvatures facing one another, or a curvature facing away from one another, and two reaction spaces are formed between the diaphragms and a cylinder, the reaction spaces accommodating the adjusting piston and being filled with a hydraulic medium and connected together in a constrained arrangement by means of hydraulic linkage lines. Both diaphragms remain in position and do not fold over during a transition from a suction stroke to a pressure stroke, because the diaphragms are continuously in contact with the hydraulic lines and are thereby fixed in place, so that the diaphragms are not subjected to alternating loadings.
