A receiver apparatus is configured to receive a first and second signal from one or more sensors, the first signal comprising a measure of one or more exercise parameters of the user at a first time period of an exercise session, and the second signal comprising a measure of the one or more exercise parameters at a second time period. A processor is configured to store the first and second signals in a memory, generate a fatigue signal based on a comparison of the measured one or more exercise parameters of the first signal to the respective measured one or more exercise parameters of the second signal, generate an exercise efficiency signal based on a comparison of the measured one or more exercise parameters of the second signal to an a priori exercise parameter threshold, and cause the exercise efficiency signal and the fatigue signal to be simultaneously displayed.

System and method for monitoring efficiency versus fatigue

A shoe is provided for use by a user and for use with an external reset system that is operable to transmit a reset signal. The shoe comprises a sole, a detector, a memory, a controller, and a receiver. The sole has a top surface for supporting the foot of the user when being worn by the user. The detector generates a parameter signal based on a detected parameter. The controller generates a control signal to activate said detector. The controller further generates a modification signal based on the received reset signal. The memory stores parameter data based on the parameter signal. The memory further modifies the stored parameter data based on the modification signal. The receiver receives the reset signal.

System and method for managing data in wearable device

A shoe pod includes a positioning component and an altimeter. The positioning component determines geodetic locations of the shoe, whereas the altimeter determines elevations of the shoe. A golf club pod is disposed at the golf club and includes a golf club parameter detector operable to be detachably fastened to the golf club, to detect a golf club head striking surface position and to transmit the detected club parameter signal based on the detected golf club parameter.

Techniques for evaluating swing metrics

A system includes a shoe and a pod. The pod is disposed at the shoe and includes a positioning component and an altimeter. The positioning component determines a first geodetic location of the shoe at a first time, whereas the altimeter determines a first elevation of the shoe at the first time. The first positioning component additionally determines a second geodetic location of the shoe at a second time and generate shoe distance data based on the first geodetic location and the second geodetic location. The altimeter additionally determines a second elevation of the shoe at the second time. The positioning component additionally determines a total distance traveled based on the shoe distance data, the first elevation and the second elevation.

System and method for monitoring hiking

A device is provided for use by a user, wherein the device includes a first sensor, a second sensor and an efficiency generating component. The first sensor detects a first parameter and generates a first detected signal based on the first detected parameter. The second sensor detects a second parameter and generates a second detected signal based on the second detected parameter. The efficiency generating component generates an efficiency signal based on the first detected signal and the second detected signal.

A wearable device includes: a wake up component that generates a first wake-up signal based on a first detected exercise activity location and generates a second wake-up signal based on a second detected exercise activity location; a receiver that receives a first exercise signal from a first transmitter based on receipt of the first wake-up signal and receives a second exercise signal from a second transmitter based on receipt of the second wake-up signal, the first exercise signal being associated with a first exercise session of the user, the second exercise signal being associated with a second exercise session of the user; a memory that stores first exercise data based on first exercise signal and stores second exercise data based on the second exercise signal; and a transmitter that transmits an exercise download signal based on the first exercise data and the second exercise data.

A device for use with a wireless transceiver that is operable to transmit a data file. The device includes a communication component, a processing component, a parameter detecting component and a controlling component. The communication component wirelessly communicates with the transceiver. The processing component operates in a first manner. The parameter detecting component detects a first parameter and generates a parameter signal based on the detected first parameter. The controlling component generates a wake-up signal based on the parameter signal. The communication component can further receive the data file based on the wake-up signal. The processing component can further operate in a second manner based on the data file.
