The invention relates to a distance compensating element for arrangement between two components with a metal foil (), with spring elements () integrally formed with the metal foil (), wherein the spring elements () project from the plane (E) of the metal foil () and wherein the spring elements () are adapted to be in contact with at least one of the components. The invention also relates to an arrangement comprising two components () and a distance-compensating element (). The invention solves the technical problem of improving a spacer element and an arrangement of two components and a spacer element.

The sheet metal or substrate materialis constructed by a photo-chemical machining or milling method. In this exemplary process, an etching maskis applied to both sides of the substrateand covers the structure of the flat-shaped member, which is to be uncovered in a subsequent etching step. The maskis formed by coating the substratewith a photoresist and is exposed through a photomask having the desired pattern that is arranged in front of the mask, whereby the photoresist is polymerized or hardened in the covered areas while the other areas are rinsed away after development.
