A cap for an explosive water charge may be fixed to a collapsible water bottle by threading internal threads of the cap onto external threads of the water bottle. The cap also may be fixed to a water bottle by engaging a lip on the water bottle with lip grabbers on the cap. The cap is configured to hold a blasting cap and two different sizes of tubes of energetic material.

Universal cap for explosive water charges

A non-transitory computer readable medium on which is stored machine-readable instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the processor to determine the location in 3D space of an object of interest within the interior region of an opaque container. Hence, a user or operator is allowed to construct a three-dimensional representation of the interior region of the opaque container so as to allow viewing of objects, components and substances within the interior region. The users or operators now have the opportunity to isolate a particular object of interest within the interior region that may be a threat, such as an explosive device or other energetic component. A disrupter device is aimed at the three-dimensional location and thereafter, the disrupter device fires a projectile or substance at the object of interest in order to disable or destroy the object of interest.

Method and system for determining the location in 3D space of an object within an enclosed opaque container

A method and system for determining the location in 3D space of an object of interest within the interior region of an enclosed, opaque container. The invention allows a user or operator to construct a three-dimensional representation of the interior region of the container to allow viewing of objects, components and substances within the interior region. The users or operators now have the opportunity to isolate a particular object of interest within the interior region that may be a threat, such as an explosive device or other energetic component. A disrupter device is aimed at the three-dimensional location and thereafter, the disrupter device fires a projectile or substance at the object of interest in order to disable or destroy the object of interest.

An insensitive munition initiation canister includes a first cylindrical body having an external surface, which includes a first set of threads arranged circumferentially around the first cylindrical body, and a second cylindrical body connected to the first cylindrical body including an external surface having a second set of threads arranged circumferentially around the second cylindrical body. The first cylindrical body includes a first internal region set to retain an explosive charge having a detonation capability sufficient to detonate an insensitive munition. The first cylindrical body is set to sit inside a munition fuze well. The threads of the first cylindrical body are set to engage the munition fuze well.

Insensitive munition initiation canister (IMIC)

A portable and collapsible apparatus for holding fiducial markers has a first section that includes a frame, an opposite second side, a first panel attached to the first frame and fiducial markers attached to the first panel. The apparatus includes a second section pivotably attached to the first section and a second frame, an opposite second side, a second panel member attached to the second frame and fiducial markers attached to the second panel. The apparatus is configurable to a closed state by pivoting the first section and second section toward each other where the rear sides of the first frame and second frame contact each other. The apparatus is configurable to an opened state by pivoting the first section and second section away from each other. In the opened state, the first section and second section are vertically oriented with respect to a surface.

Portable and collapsible apparatus for holding fiducial markers

A system for extracting threats buried underground includes a housing, a shaped charge coupled to the housing at one end, and an explosive projectile disposed in the housing and spaced-apart from the shaped charge. The explosive projectile includes an open-ended pipe, a detonation line wrapped about the pipe and extending away therefrom and through the housing, an explosive material disposed about and in contact with the detonation line wrapped about the pipe. The explosive projectile also includes a first donut-shaped plate at one end of the pipe, a second donut-shaped plate at another end of the pipe, and a third donut-shaped plate coupled to and spaced-apart from the second donut-shaped plate. A flow path extends through the plates and the pipe.

Extraction system for underground threats

A shaped charge includes a casing with a liner disposed therein. The liner has two spaced-apart and nested walls with each wall having an identical ogive shape. An explosive material fills a portion of the casing up to one of the walls. A loose particulate material is disposed between the walls. A blasting cap is coupled to a first axial end of the casing adjacent to the explosive material, and a sealing cap is coupled to a second axial end of the casing.

Particulate-filled adaptive capsule (PAC) charge

A process that uses a lodged projectile removal charge (LPRC) apparatus to remove a projectile jammed in a cannon's gun tube. The LPRC is positioned coaxially and offset from the projectile, and the gun tube is filled with water. The charge is detonated producing a shock wave that disintegrates the LPRC apparatus and pressurizes the water. The pressurized water produces a radial hydraulic force against an interior wall of the gun tube, an axial hydraulic force against the projectile pushing the projectile toward the chamber, and produces an opposing expansion of explosive gases that blasts out most of the water in the gun tube. The process is less likely to damage the gun tube. The LPRC may be made using a 3D printer.

Lodged projectile removal charge

An extraction charge for threats buried underground includes a housing, a shaped charge disposed in the housing at one end thereof, and a canister disposed in the housing and spaced apart from the shaped charge. The canister defines an open-ended tubular pathway and includes an explosive material housed in a region of the canister that circumscribes the tubular pathway. A delay detonator is coupled to the shaped charge and to the explosive material.

Extraction charge for underground threats

A cap for an explosive water charge includes a top surface and a generally cylindrical portion extending downwardly from the top surface. On the outer surface of the generally cylindrical portion are rings and cantilevered, pointed rectangles that enable a water tight fit in the neck of a drinking bottle. The cap is configured to hold a detonator, such as a blasting cap, and two different sizes of tubes of energetic material.

Cap for explosive water charges

An explosive disruptor includes a first jacket having joined inflatable members. The inflatable members are adapted to be filled with a gas. A second jacket is surrounded by and coupled to the first jacket. The second jacket has an outer radial wall, an inner radial wall spaced apart from the outer radial wall, and two end walls coupled to opposing axial ends of the outer radial wall and the inner radial wall. A first volumetric region is defined between the outer radial wall, the inner radial wall, and the two end walls. A second volumetric region is defined by the inner radial wall. The first volumetric region is sealed and adapted to be filled with a liquid. An explosive material is disposed in the second volumetric region. A blasting cap is in contact with the explosive material.

Collapsible/inflatable explosive disruptor

An apparatus for lifting a buried explosive device includes a T-shaped base including a flange member and a web member. The web member has one end fixed at a right angle to the midpoint of the flange member. A vertical upright member is fixed at one end to the midpoint of the flange member. A diagonal member is fixed at one end to the other end of the vertical upright member and fixed at another end to a second end of the web member that is distal the flange member. The vertical upright member is at least twice a length of the web member. The flange member, the web member, the vertical upright member and the diagonal member are L-channel members made of carbon fiber.

Apparatus for remotely lifting a buried explosive device

An explosive container positioning saddle for munition demolition includes a base having a first surface defined by a portion of a cylindrical shape with a longitudinal axis. The base includes a second surface opposing the first surface. Sleeves are coupled to the second surface of the base and extend away therefrom. Each of the sleeves has a longitudinal axis and is oriented such that the longitudinal axis associated therewith is aligned to intersect with the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical shape.

Explosive container postioning saddle for munition demolition

A fluid-jet-generating container for a flowable material includes a one-piece open-ended body having eight sides and eight corners. Each of the eight corners is defined by a V-notch such that the open-ended body may define a collapsed state when the eight sides are disposed in two parallel planes, and may define a configured state with the eight sides arranged to define an open-ended U-shaped trough. End caps are sealed to the opposing ends of the open-ended body in its configured state.

Collapsible container for fluid-jet generation

The remote excavator tool fastens to a robotic arm on a remotely controlled robotic platform that includes a track drive. The tool uses high speed tilling elements rotating at about 1500 rpm to dig, efficiently, a trench using a small amount of power. The tilling elements are hardened steel, rotating counterclockwise to a conventional tiller. The tilling elements are symmetrically mounted on a polygonal shaft, and include right and left multiple couples of paired facing disks with staggered curved tines, where the tines are thick and have tapered hardened edges. Round brushes are interspaced between couples. The loosen soil is pushed forward and to the sides to help protect the robotic platform and maintain control of the tool especially as the rate of the excavation partially depends on the characteristics of the material being excavated.
