Systems and methods provide an application programming interface to offer action suggestions to third-party applications using context data associated with the third-party. An example method includes receiving content information and context information from a source mobile application, the content information representing information to be displayed on a mobile device as part of a source mobile application administered by a third party, the context information being information specific to the third party and unavailable to a screen scraper. The method also includes predicting an action based on the content information and the context information, the action representing a deep link for a target mobile application. The method further includes providing the action to the source mobile application with a title and a thumbnail, the source mobile application using the title and thumbnail to display a selectable control that, when selected, causes the mobile device to initiate the action.

Providing contextual actions for mobile onscreen content

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for providing contextual information for a displayed resource. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, from a user device, a query-independent request for contextual information relevant to an active resource displayed in an application environment on the user device, identifying multiple search items from the content in the resource, determining a relevance score for each of the multiple search items, selecting one or more of the multiple search items based on the relevance scores, and providing, to the user device for each of the selected one or more multiple search items, a respective contextual user interface element for display with the active resource, where each contextual user interface element includes contextual information regarding the respective search item.

Contextual information for a displayed resource

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for providing contextual information to a user. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, from a user device, a query-independent request for contextual information relevant to an active resource displayed in an application environment on the user device, identifying entities from content in the resource, generating queries for topical information based on the entities identified from the content, identifying topical resources that are responsive to the queries for topical information, and providing, to the user device, a user interface element for display with the active resource, wherein the user interface element includes contextual information regarding the identified topical resources.

Topical resource recommendations for a displayed resource

Depositing funds onto smart cards for use during processing of purchases. A device creates a deposit request and transmits the request to a remote system. The remote system processes the request and transmits a deposit record to the device, which in turn transmits the record to the smart card. If the device has network access, it transmits a deposit confirmation to the remote system, which updates the smart card account to include the confirmation. If the device unable to connect to the remote system, the deposit confirmation is transmitted when the smart card is involved in a future transaction. During the future transaction, the smart card transmits its transaction history, which comprises the deposit confirmation, to the device, and the device transmits the transaction history to the remote system. The remote system updates the smart card account to include the deposit confirmation.

Pending deposit for payment processing system

Preventing fraud during an offline transaction by encoding a randomly-generated card verification code onto a smart card. The verification code is transmitted to a contactless device during each transaction, wherein it is cross-referenced with the account number to ensure presence of the card. Also, every transaction record is signed by an access key resident on the contactless device and certified by a signing key resident on a remote system. Funds may be deposited onto the card when the contactless device creates a deposit request, signs the request using an access key and transmits it to the remote system, which in turn processes the request and certifies it with a signing key. Funds may be withdrawn when the contactless device creates a withdrawal record and signs it using an access key. The remote system verifies the signatures and certifies the records using a signing key when the records are later transmitted.
