A system for electrical stimulation of the salivary glands for the treatment of dry mouth is disclosed. In one embodiment, the system includes a headset with an electronic control module, placed on the back head, and a stimulating module, placed on the area to be stimulated. Both modules are connected by an elastic arm. The stimulating module provides one or more pairs of electrodes in contact with neuro-sensitive areas of a patient, and is anchored in the ear canal. The position of the electrodes is adjustable for optimized stimulation. The system may be operated by control bottoms that are part of the electronic control module or by a mobile device, such as a wireless remote control, a smartphone, or a tablet. A mobile device camera may be used for correcting the placement of the electrodes.

System for the treatment of dry mouth using electrical stimulation of the salivary glands

Embodiments of the invention provide a reusable intra-oral device for treating xerostomia. The device having a structure adaptable for oral cavities of multiple users. The hermitically sealed housing comprises of an electronic module having a signal generator configured to generate electrical signals based on one or more values of one or more predefined parameters. Further, the device comprises of electrodes connected to the electronic module. The electrodes are configured to apply the electric signals for stimulating lingual nerves in the oral cavities to induce salivation.

Device and method for stimulating salivation

A monitoring system embodying a monitoring system embodying a method of this invention for monitoring predetermined patients with mental and/or behavioral disorders by accessing, analyzing and monitoring their measured input through a plurality of sensors inherent in most personal mobile devices is provided. Devices and methods for intraoral controlled drug release

An implantable device for inducing salivation by neural stimulation at neurally sensitive location within an oral or perioral tissue of a user. The device includes a housing adapted to be permanently implanted within the oral or perioral tissue. The housing has an enclosure therein for engaging an electrical signal generator. The signal generator includes a power source and at least one electrode operatively associated with the housing and electrically coupled to the signal generator. The electrode is so positioned with respect to the housing so as to form an electrical contact with the oral or perioral tissue and in operative contact with a neurally sensitive location of the oral or perioral tissue, the stimulation of which by electrical energy can induce salivation when the housing is operatively disposed, whereby the electrode applies a signal generated by the signal generator to the sensitive location of the oral or perioral tissue to induce salivation.
