A fluid sampling device, the device having a fluid composition sensor configured to receive a fluid sample and capture a plurality of particles from the fluid sample at a collection media, wherein the fluid composition sensor is further configured to generate particle data associated with the plurality of particles using a particle imaging operation, and a controller, the controller being configured to: determine an optimal sample volume associated with a sample collection operation based at least in part on a particle load condition defined by the plurality of particles captured at the collection media during the sample collection operation, and update one or more operational characteristics of the fluid composition sensor such that the sample collection operation is defined at least in part by the optimal sample volume.

Device for optimizing fluid sample volume and method of using the same

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide for improved generation and outputting of object identification data indicating object classifications for object representations. Such objects representations may correspond to depictions of objects in images captured using digital holographic microscopy. Some embodiments generate object identification data by comparing object representations in focused image(s) with specially configured annotated focused images, for example using a specially trained neural network or other machine learning model trained based on such annotated focused images. The annotated focused images are generated including a plurality of channels, each associated with a different grayscale focused image at a different target focal length of a range of target focal lengths. In this regard, model(s), algorithm(s), and/or other specially configured implementations may learn the spatial features of particular object representations and associated object identification data. The trained models may be used to perform accurate comparisons with the annotated focused images.

Apparatuses, computer-implemented methods, and computer program products for improved generation of object identification data

A flow device, method, and system are provided for determining the fluid particle composition. An example flow device includes a fluid sensor configured to monitor at least one particle characteristic of fluid flowing through the fluid sensor. The example flow device also includes at least one processor configured to, upon determining the at least one particle characteristic satisfies a particle criteria, generate a control signal for an external device. The example flow device also includes a fluid composition sensor configured to be powered based on the control signal and further configured to capture data relating to the fluid particle composition. The example flow device is also configured to generate one or more particle profiles of at least one component of the fluid based on the data captured by the fluid composition sensor.

Various embodiments are directed to a device for detecting fluid particle characteristics comprising: a collection fluid dispense assembly configured to selectively dispense a volume of collection fluid onto an absorbent media disposed within an internal sensor portion of a fluid composition sensor, producing a collection media based on interaction between the volume of collection fluid and the absorbent media; and a controller configured to determine, based on a particle image captured by an imaging device, a particle characteristic associated with a particle captured at the collection media. In various embodiments a device is configured to receive therein a collection media comprising a biologically nutritive substance; and may comprise an imaging device and a controller configured to determine a biological particle characteristic based on a comparison of first particle data and second particle data generated by the imaging device, the second particle data being associated with an incubated particle configuration.

In situ fluid sampling device and method of using the same

Various embodiments are directed to a fluid composition sensor device and method of using the same. In various embodiments, the fluid flow composition sensor is configured to receive a volume of fluid, the fluid composition sensor comprising a housing, a removable fluid flow component, an impactor nozzle, a collection media assembly dock element configured to receive a replaceable collection media assembly comprising a collection media configured to receive one or more particles within the volume of fluid, an imaging device configured to capture an image of at least a portion of the one or more particles received by the fluid composition sensor, and a controller configured to determine, based at least in part on the image, at least one particle characteristic of the volume of fluid. The imaging device may be configured to capture the image of one or more particles received by the fluid composition sensor using lensless holography.

Fluid composition sensor device and method of using the same

Various embodiments are directed to a device for detecting fluid particle characteristics comprising: a fluid composition sensor comprising: an illumination source configured to emit a light beam along a beam axis such that at least a portion of the light beam engages a collection media and illuminates particles disposed within a collection media; an imaging device configured to capture an image of the particles disposed within the collection media; and a light shield comprising: an internal shield portion enclosed within an inner surface of a shield wall; and one or more baffle elements disposed within the internal shield portion and configured to reflect at least a divergent portion of the light beam within the internal shield portion; wherein the light shield extends between the illumination source and the imaging device such that a portion of the light beam emitted along the beam axis passes through the internal shield portion.

A fluid sensing apparatus and method for detecting pressure and a presence of a bubble within a fluid tube. The fluid sensing apparatus comprises a housing configured to receive a portion of the fluid tube and to house a pressure sensor and an ultrasonic transmitter. The pressure sensor is positioned adjacent the fluid tube and is configured to receive a pressure sensor signal, which correlates to a detected pressure differential within the fluid tube. A controller transmits a drive signal to the ultrasonic transmitter, which emits ultrasonic waves through a portion of the fluid tube and to the pressure sensor. The pressure sensor receives both the ultrasonic waves and the pressure sensor signal, and subsequently transmits an output signal to the controller. In a presence of the detected pressure differential or the bubble within the fluid tube, the output signal will exhibit a DC shift or a distortion of signal characteristics of the output signal, respectively.

Fluid sensor

A fluid sensing apparatus and a method for detecting pressure and a presence of bubbles within a fluid tube. The fluid sensing apparatus comprises a housing configured to receive a portion of the tube and to house a pressure sensor and an ultrasonic transmitter. The pressure sensor is positioned adjacent the tube and is configured to receive a pressure sensor signal, which correlates to a detected pressure differential within the tube. A device and a method for detecting fluid particle characteristics. The device comprises a fluid composition sensor configured to receive a volume of fluid and a controller. The fluid composition sensor comprises a collection media configured to receive one or more particles of a plurality of particles within the fluid; and an imaging device configured to capture an image of one or more particles of the plurality of particles received by the collection media. The controller is configured to determine a particle impaction depth of each of the one or more particles of the plurality of particles within the collection media; and, based at least in part on the particle impaction depth of each of the one or more particles of the plurality of particles, determine a particulate matter mass concentration within the volume of fluid.

Particle mass characteristics determining device and method

Various embodiments described herein relate to apparatuses and methods for detecting fluid particles and their characteristics. In various embodiments, a device for detecting fluid particles and their characteristics may comprise a lens free holographic microscope configured to collect fluid particles via inertial impaction. In various embodiments, the collection media may be replaceable within the apparatus. In various embodiments, the impactor nozzle may be selectively configured to avoid optical reflections and scattering from illumination light passing through the nozzle. Various embodiments are directed to a collection media assembly for receiving particles from a volume of fluid within a fluid composition sensor. A collection media assembly may comprise a collection media, an orifice, a seal engagement portion and a frame element configured to facilitate the serial use of a plurality of collection media assemblies within a fluid composition sensor.

Various embodiments are directed to a collection media assembly for receiving one or more particles from a volume of fluid within a fluid composition sensor. In various embodiments, the collection media assembly comprises a housing, a transparent substrate, a collection media disposed upon the transparent substrate and configured to receive one or more particles from a volume of fluid received through a fluid inlet; and at least one alignment feature. The housing defines an open lower end configured for interaction with an imaging device, such that the one or more particles received by the collection media are visible through the transparent substrate from the open lower end. Each of the at least one alignment features is configured to engage a corresponding element disposed within the fluid composition sensor so as to constrain relative movement between the collection media assembly and the corresponding element in at least a first direction.
