Method and related system for detecting advertising sections of video signal. The invention is capable of integrating detecting results based on different detecting rules, which includes detecting discontinuity of frame images in the video signals, detecting occurrences of frames with specific images, detecting occurrences of repeated frames, and detecting audio divisions in the video signal. Detecting results of these detecting rules are integrated by weighting them according to their accuracy, such that occurrence of advertising can be located.

In the video signals provided by broadcasting media, advertising sections are inserted between normal programs, thus causing interruption. An end portion of the normal program will be repeated before an advertising section ends. The invention determines the continuity of two adjacent frames, to search for frame discontinuity to find out if there is a frame similar to a next given frame. If a similar frame is found to have an advertising frame, an advertisement is detected.

Method and related system for high efficiency advertising detection

An image data processing apparatus for detecting a scrolling direction of a first image thereto scaling the first image simultaneously is disclosed. The image data processing apparatus includes an image detecting module and a scaling module. The image detecting module is used for extracting an eigenvalue of the first image and its scrolling detection thereto outputs a directional signal and a line difference signal. The scaling module receives a ratio signal, the directional signal, and the line difference signal thereto outputs a second image accordingly.

Apparatus and method for image quality improvement while scaling and scrolling the image

The decoding method is disclosed. The steps of the method includes recording each status of a plurality of data blocks of compressed macroblocks indicated by a first pointer to a first pointer storage area and each status of a plurality of data blocks of compressed inter-macroblocks indicated by a second pointer to a second pointer storage area; decoding the data blocks of compressed macroblocks according to the first pointer storage area and the data blocks of compressed inter-macroblocks according to the second pointer storage area; and outputting the decoded data blocks to an inverse quantization unit and an inverse discrete cosine transform unit.
