The application concerns an apparatus for inspecting luggage, including a tubular frame having a plurality of pairs of lateral openings, the tubular frame being suitable for receiving a plurality of containers in line with the pairs of openings, each of the containers having two opposing faces and a plurality of juxtaposed and superimposed locations that are freely accessible through the two opposing faces, each of the locations being suitable for receiving a piece of luggage provided with an information recording medium containing information relating to the piece of luggage. The apparatus further includes a locating device including photoelectric detection grids installed across the lateral openings, respectively, and the position of the location in the container is recorded when the photoelectric detection grid is crossed.

Luggage handling control installation

The present disclosure relates to a baggage container with at least one loading platform for single items of hand baggage, said baggage items each having a base on which are two opposed lateral walls, said loading platform comprising reception methods for each base of said items of baggage in order to receive said items of baggage standing on the base thereof and organized such that said walls of said items of baggage are essentially parallel to each other. According to the disclosure, said reception methods have ways for holding each of said bases and said bases are designed to engage in said reception methods when the item of baggage is loaded into the container, such that said bases cooperate with said retainer methods to hold the item of baggage in a fixed opposition on said loading platform.

The invention concerns an installation and a method for automatically processing individual hand-held bags between two storage areas, the bags respectively having a base surmounted by two opposed lateral flanks, said bags being adapted to rest in equilibrium on their base, said bags being transferred from one storage area to the other via a longitudinal transfer platform, as claimed in the invention, the installation comprises: means for forming rows of bags resting on their base on one of said storage areas; means for driving each of said rows in translation in a first direction over said longitudinal transfer platform; and means for driving each of said rows of bags supported by said platform in translation in a second direction substantially perpendicular to said first direction to transfer said row of bags to the other storage area.
