A signal conditioning circuit contains an oscillator which is connected to the inputs of two mixers. The output of one mixer is coupled, so as to form a feedback path, to a frequency divider circuit whose first output is coupled to the second input of the first mixer. A second signal output of the frequency divider circuit carries a signal with a phase shift ofdegrees with respect to the signal at the first signal output of the frequency divider circuit. The second signal is supplied to a second input of the second mixer. Feedback results in undesirable signal components in the in-phase and quadrature components being suppressed. At the same time, the in-phase and quadrature components have a fixed phase relationship with respect to one another. The signal conditioning circuit allows desired non-integer division ratios to be achieved.

Signal conditioning circuit

The invention specifies a circuit arrangement with a phase locked loop (), which can be used as a mobile radio transmitter, in particular. The reference frequency for the PLL (), which is provided by means of the source (), is multiplied by a multiplier () and is down-converted to an intermediate-frequency level in a down-conversion mixer () using the output signal from the PLL, and is evaluated such that a modulator () connected to the input of the oscillator () can be trimmed. The inventive principle is used to advantage in two-point modulators and allows inexpensive, integratable mobile radio transmitters with good noise characteristics.

The invention relates to a demodulator and also a demodulation method and enables a reliable demodulation even when the intermediate frequency range overlaps the range of the data frequencies of the signal. For this purpose, a rapidly oscillating output signal is generated from the in-phase signal and also the quadrature signal, the sign of which output signal varies in a manner dependent on the product of the signs of the in-phase signal and of the quadrature signal. Either an XOR gate or a multiplier stage may be used in order to generate an output signal of this type.

The invention is directed to a frequency conversion circuit arrangement a mobile radio containing such circuit which provide frequency conditioning with a frequency mixer. In this context, a feedback path from the output of the frequency mixer to a further input on the frequency mixer is provided which has a frequency divider. Particularly if the frequency divider is in the form of a divide-by-two frequency divider, the frequency conversion circuit exhibits low power and has a small chip area and permits the circuit to be operated without reaction on a frequency generator in order to actuate a frequency converter for a useful signal in a transceiver.

One or more aspects of the present invention are directed to a frequency-doubling circuit arrangement that doubles the frequency of a signal applied to its input, and presents that doubled frequency signal at its output. A rectifier that rectifies the input signal as a function of a reference variable is provided for coupling the input and output. A regulator is used to supply the reference variable to a control input of the rectifier. A control loop is designed so that even-numbered higher harmonics in the output signal disappear or are greatly suppressed. Since the frequency-doubling circuit described has a low power consumption in conjunction with a smaller chip area, it is particularly suitable for installation in mobile radios for conditioning carrier frequencies and local oscillator frequencies.

An electronic component includes an interposer substrate and at least one semiconductor chip mounted on the interposer substrate. A plurality of electrical connections electrically couple a rewiring of the interposer substrate to contact regions of the at least one semiconductor chip. The present invention relates to a radio-frequency mixer arrangement in which a differential amplifier is connected to an input on a multiplier. The differential amplifier is arranged together with at least one capacitance in the feedback path of an operational amplifier. The at least one capacitance performs the function of an antialiasing filter. The feedback operational amplifier with the design described results in a highly linear output signal given low output noise and a low current requirement. The mixer proposed is particularly suitable for use in vector modulators or polar modulators in transmission paths in mobile radios.

A transmission arrangement includes a step-up frequency mixer that converts a modulation signal to a transmission frequency. The step-up frequency mixer is arranged within a phase locked loop that further comprises a frequency divider that is likewise supplied with the modulation data, combined with channel pre-selection data, for the purposes of compensation. This arrangement prevents low-frequency components of the modulation signal from being eliminated by the phase locked loop. In addition, noise components and undesirable interference frequency components that are produced in the mixer are suppressed by the phase locked loop.

A PLL circuit is tuned to a first frequency by using a first digital modulation signal and subsequently tuned to a second frequency by using a second digital modulation signal. A differential signal, that is a function of the change in voltage of a VCO control signal generated by the modulation signals, is compared with a comparison signal, that is characteristic of the analog modulation amplitude. Based on the comparison the analog modulation amplitude is changed to minimize or substantially eliminate a deviation between the signals.

The invention relates to an interconnection for chip sandwich structures by means of which chips can be electrically and mechanically connected to one another face-to-face, and to a method for the production thereof. The invention is intended to create interconnections that can be produced more cost-effectively and more effectively. This is achieved by virtue of the fact that pin- or sleeve-shaped contact elements () are arranged between the chips (), which contact elements create an electrical and mechanical interconnection between the contact pads () of the semiconductor chips () and are soldered to the latter.

An arrangement for producing an electrical connection between a ball grid array (BGA) package and a signal source is disclosed. A flexible printed circuit board (PCB) has conductor (e.g., copper) tracks arranged between flexible plastic layers. A contact receptacle with guide elements for the BGA package is located over a portion of the flexible PCB. Contact structures are electrically coupled to the conductor tracks of the flexible PCB and accessible via the contact receptacle. The contact structures serve for providing an electrical contact-connection of terminals of a BGA package placed in the receptacle. The contact structures comprise column- or sleeve-shaped contact elements that extend through the flexible PCB and project upwards on one side from one of the flexible plastic layers.

A frequency conversion circuit arrangement is disclosed providing a complex output signal at its output. The circuit comprises two frequency mixers that are driven, on the one hand, by an input signal and, on the other hand, by a feedback signal. In this case, the feedback signal is the frequency-divided output signal and has been broken down into an in-phase component and a quadrature component. The frequency conversion circuit provides a signal at an output frequency in a manner independent of production tolerances and accurately in terms of frequency, said signal being in the form of an IQ signal and additionally being decoupled, in terms of frequency, from the input signal. The frequency conversion circuit is therefore particularly well suited to use in mobile radio transceivers.
