Inflammation caused by disease states such as rheumatism, gout, neurodegeneration and tumours result in the increased effectiveness of the opioid peptide biphalin or its analogues, due likely to the increased permeability of the 'blood-brain barrier', due to which it becomes possible to use the opioid peptide to produce a new analgesic for use during inflammation caused by rheumatism, gout, neurodegeneration, post-surgical or post-accidental trauma or tumours.

Use of a peptide and an analgesic pharmaceutical agent

The subject of the present invention are peptide preparations obtained via the enzymatic digestion of hair, wool, bristles, animal fur and individual peptides with sequences corresponding to individual components of a peptide preparation with antitumor activity, for use in the treatment of tumors or oncological prophylaxis as basal components or components of compositions of substances for treating tumors or components of substances used in oncological prophylaxis.

The use is claimed of opioid peptides with a novel structure, which in addition to the pharmacophore contain structural elements that interact with neurotensisn receptors. Due to the synergistic interaction with the additional element, an augmented analgesic activity is obtained, capable of being used for an extended period due to decreased drug tolerance induction. These compounds may be of particular use in the treatment of chronic pain as effective analgesics during inflammation caused by rheumatoid, gout, neurodegeneration, post-operative or post-accidental lesions, or oncogenic lesions.

Peptide analogues, particularly for the treatment of chronic pain

The invention provides dendrimeric compounds of the formula 1 comprising amino acids, wherein n is an integer of 1-4, T is an alkylidene &#x2014;(CH2)2CONH(CH2)2- group, R2 is an &#x2014;NH2 group or a moiety of a primary organic amine, and P is an amino acid and/or peptide moiety, wherein at least one hydrogen atom of at least one amino group is optionally replaced by a protective group, and a hyperbranched core compound of the formula 3, wherein T and R2 are as defined above. The invention provides also a process for the preparation of a dendrimeric compound and a hyperbranched core, wherein the process employs addition reactions of alkyl acrylate and a basic amino acid, and use of a hyperbranched core for the preparation of a dendrimeric compound comprising amino acids. The invention provides also use of dendrimeric compounds for the preparation of the medicament for inhibiting growth of bacterial cells, fungi and tumor cells.
