Methods, systems, and devices for humidifying are described herein. One method includes determining a temperature in a space associated with a humidifying unit, determining a relative humidity in the space, determining an air speed associated with the humidifying unit, and adjusting an amount of water sprayed by the humidifying unit based, at least in part, on the temperature, the relative humidity, and the air speed.

Methods, systems, and devices for humidifying

A system that provides effective and efficient introduction of water droplets into an air flow. The water droplets are sufficiently small so as to evaporate primarily before leaving the mixing enclosure where the droplets are injected by spray nozzles. Large droplets are kept to a minimum, thus reducing condensation and water accumulation to a very small amount. An amount of water usage is significantly less than that of a conventional evaporative humidifier of the same capacity. The present system may be placed in an enclosure that can readily replace other conventional evaporative humidifiers in enclosures. The present enclosure and system may be installed in lieu of a conventional enclosure and evaporative humidifier with minimal effort. The present enclosure has features that facilitate droplet to air mixing, viewing, humidification, and testing. In permissible situations, the present system may replace a conventional system but retain the conventional enclosure.

Humidifier system

Devices, methods, and systems for monitoring thickness uniformity are described herein. One system includes a transmitter configured to transmit a signal through a portion of a material while the material is moving, an attenuator configured to absorb a first portion of the transmitted signal, a reflector configured to reflect a second portion of the transmitted signal, a receiver configured to receive the reflected signal, and a computing device configured to determine a thickness of the portion of the material based on a time delay between the transmission of the signal and the reception of the reflected signal.

Monitoring thickness uniformity

Apparatuses, methods and systems for controlling flow in a fluid distribution system are described herein. One apparatus includes a flow sensor configured to determine a flow of a fluid through a conduit of a fluid distribution system, a valve associated with the conduit and coupled to an actuator, and a controller connected to the flow sensor and the actuator.

Controlling flow in a fluid distribution system

Methods, systems, and devices for determining current are described herein. One method includes receiving power from a current conductor using a first quantity of coils of a wire around a magnetic core at least partially surrounding a portion of the current conductor, receiving an indication associated with a determined current through the current conductor from a current sensor associated with the wire, and receiving power from the current conductor using a second quantity of the coils of the wire, wherein the second quantity is determined based, at least in part, on the determined current.

Determining current

A receiving apparatus is provided. The receiving apparatus comprises a chip carrier including at least one stack of layers, wherein at least one layer in the stack supports radio frequency transmission lines, tunable bandpass filters, wherein each bandpass filter is integrated within an associated radio frequency transmission line, and at least one integrated micro-chip on the chip carrier. The at least one integrated micro-chip couples selected bandwidth regions of received broadband radio frequency signals to the tunable bandpass filters via the associated radio frequency transmission line. The at least one integrated micro-chip outputs each filtered selected bandwidth region to an associated one of a plurality of intermediate frequency modules.

MEMS based multiband receiver architecture

A miniature fiber radio transceiver is disclosed that has an elongated form factor. In some embodiments, the form factor has the dimensions of one half of a millimeter by one half of a millimeter by fifty millimeters to give the transceiver an elongated shape similar to the shape of a single strand of hair. The miniature fiber radio transceiver may also include an energy source in the form of a piezoelectric fiber composite transducer having a plurality of elongated elastic piezoelectric fibers embedded in a composite material. The piezoelectric fibers can scavenge electrical energy from mechanical energy to generate charge pulses that provide the electrical energy for the operation of the transceiver.

Miniature fiber radio transceiver and related method

A network system for inter-component communications in an electronic device is disclosed. The system comprises a plurality of components for an electronic device, where each of the components communicates with at least one other component over a communications medium for a wireless mesh network. Each of the components comprises a communications transceiver operable to determine network traffic load levels for an exchange of communication data between the components, and allocate the network traffic between at least one pair of the components over a plurality of wireless links within the wireless mesh network based on potential-field based measurements at each of the components. In addition, each of the communications transceivers share the exchange of the communication data between the components based on a prescribed priority level for allocation of the network traffic.

Wireless mesh network for inter-component data communications in satellite systems

A receiver comprising at least one micro-electromechanical system (MEMS) antenna-select switch, a MEMS filter bank communicatively coupled to the antenna-select switch and a plurality of intermediate frequency modules communicatively coupled to the MEMS filter bank and the non-MEMS filter array, wherein each independent channel supported by the receiver has at least one associated intermediate frequency module.

A nanowire magnetic sensor includes an array of magneto-resistive (MR) nanosensors with each MR nanosensor including a set of MR nanowires that are all aligned in the same position for one direction. The substrate can be a flexible substrate bent into a circular configuration for compass applications. A plurality of individual nanosensors can be connected into resistive Wheatstone bridge configurations by metallization.

Nanowire magnetic sensor

A nanowire magnetic sensor and position sensor for determining the position of a magnetic object and direction of magnetic field is disclosed herein. The magnetic compass includes a number of magnetic nanosensor printed on a flexible substrate, which covers 360-degree angle at equal intervals. Each magnetic nanosensor generally includes magneto-resistive nanowires with high magnetic sensitivity printed in sets e.g. of ten on the flexible substrate. The flexible substrate can also be bent to form a circular configuration to detect the azimuth direction of the magnetic field. The individual nanosensors can be connected into resistive Wheatstone bridge configurations by metalization. The magnetic nanosensors can be utilized as a position sensor of a magnetic object for position determination. Additional electronics can also be mounted or printed on the flexible substrate from other type of nanowires.

Nanowire magnetic compass and position sensor

A multi-axis magnetic or other field sensing device and method of fabricating a multi-axis magnetic or other field sensing device. An example sensing device is a 3-axis sensor package on a substrate with sensors on opposing sides of the substrate. One side of the substrate includes an X-axis sensor and a Y-axis sensor (or alternatively an integrated X-Y-axis sensor) and the opposite side of the substrate includes a Z-axis sensor on at least one sloped surface, the surface sloped with respect to both the first and second surface areas. One surface is mechanically and electrically bonded to a circuit board via conductive bumps. The other surface electrically connects to the circuit board through bonded wires and/or vias formed through the substrate.

Integrated 3-axis field sensor and fabrication methods

An integrated three-dimensional magnetic or any field sensing device and a method to fabricate an integrated three-dimensional magnetic sensing device is presented. An integrated three-dimensional magnetic sensing device comprises an apparatus that defines at least a first surface area and at least one sloped surface which is sloped with respect to the first surface area. Two magnetic sensing units could be arranged on the first surface area to provide first and second orthogonal sensing directions, and a third magnetic sensing unit could be arranged on the at least one sloped surface to provide sensing in at least a third sensing direction which is orthogonal to the first and second orthogonal sensing directions. Bias could be applied to the third magnetic sensing unit to cancel a component of the magnetic field sensed by the third magnetic sensing unit so that the third magnetic sensor unit only provides sensing in the third direction.
