An actuator assembly having an actuator, a worm gear, a first gear unit, a second gear unit, and a biasing member. The actuator may rotate the worm gear, first gear unit, and second gear unit in first rotational directions while the biasing member may rotate the worm gear, first gear unit, and second gear unit in second rotational directions.

A foldable vehicle seat includes a seat base, a seatback connected to the seat base for pivotal movement relative to the seat base from a generally vertical use position to a generally horizontal stow position atop the seat base, wherein the seat base is pivotally connected to the floor such that, when the seatback is moved from its use position to the folded, stow position, the seat base may be moved forward and downward to thereby provide a lower load floor position.

A foldable vehicle includes a seat base, a seatback connected to the seat base for pivotal movement relative to the seat base from a generally vertical use position to a generally horizontal stow position atop the seat base, wherein the seat base is pivotally connected to the floor such that, when the seatback is moved from its use position to the folded, stow position, the seat base may be moved rearward and downward to thereby provide a lower load floor position. The seat also includes a lock mechanism to engage and lock the seat base in a first position when the seatback is positioned within the defined range of use positions, and unlock the seat base for movement to a second position when the seatback is positioned outside the use range.

Vehicle seat with foldable stow position

A vehicle seat has a seat frame assembly including a seat base frame that may be shifted between a raised position and a lowered position, and a seatback frame pivotally attached to the seat base frame and foldable from a vertical position to a position atop the collapsed base frame. The seat base frame is pivotally connected to the vehicle floor by at least one front pivot leg which is pivotally connected for rotation with respect to both the vehicle floor and the base frame. A motor is mounted in a stationary position on the vehicle floor and connected to provide a relative torque between the seat base frame and one of the at least one pivot legs for powered movement of the seat base frame to and from the use position and the stow position.

Powered stowable vehicle seat and associated seat frame assembly

A seat assembly having a latch assembly includes a seat cushion defining a transverse axis along a side-to-side direction of the seat cushion. The seat cushion is pivotally attached to the vehicle, and the latch assembly is attached to the seat cushion. The latch assembly includes a latch that has a latch position attaching the seat cushion to the vehicle at the latch assembly, and a release position releasing the seat cushion from the vehicle at the latch assembly. The latch assembly also includes a slider arrangement configured to facilitate pivotal movement of at least a portion of the latch assembly inboard toward a center line of the seat cushion and generally along the transverse axis. Such movement automatically occurs when the latch releases the seat cushion from the vehicle at the latch assembly and the seat assembly is pivoted forward about the riser.
