A drive unit has at least one motor, a motor stand, a bearing block, a drive pulley and a counter-roller attachment. The drive pulley is mounted at the motor stand and at the bearing block by a shaft. A respective brake is arranged at the bearing block at each side. Webs connect the motor stand with the bearing block. The motor stand, the bearing block and the webs form a stable structure without an engine frame carrying the motor stand and the bearing block being necessary. A counter-roller attachment consisting of side plates and a counter-roller is arranged directly at the motor stand and the bearing block.

Drive unit, without engine frame, for an elevator

An elevator drive unit including a traction sheave supported by a shaft rotatably supported by a pair of bearings. Mounted on opposite free ends of the shaft are rotors of a pair of electric motors. Cage-housings on a pair of spaced bearing end-plates retain the stators of the motors. A plurality of frequency converters operating in a master/slave mode to supply electrical power to the motors.

Drive unit for an elevator

An elevator drive unit includes an engine, an engine stand, a bearing block, a traction sheave and an engine frame with a counter-roller base. The stator of the electric drive is bolted, by means of a flange, to the engine stand. The rotor of the electric drive sits on a free end of a shaft bearing the traction sheave. The shaft is mounted to the bearing block and the engine stand. The traction sheave is mounted to the engine stand bearing block by means of the shaft. A brake is located within the engine stand and is protected by the casing.

Drive unit with brake for an elevator

An engine frame and counter-roller support assembly provides for adjustable positioning of the support with respect to the engine frame, thus allowing differing cable-line spacing to be accommodated. The support includes a pair of carrier elements. The counter-roller is supported on an axle in the bore holes of the carrier elements. The carrier elements are identical and each are in the form of a plate with a headliner and reinforcement ribs. The headliner has a contact surface with a number of two-stage bore-holes which serve for the fastening of the counter-roller support to the engine frame. The bore-holes are arranged such that the counter-roller support can be fastened in different positions, according to the required cable-line spacing between cab cables and counterweight cables.

An emergency drive is a toothed element such as a gear rim, is arranged on a traction sheave of an elevator drive. During emergency operation, the gear rim is driven by means of a pinion of an auxiliary engine. The engine is installed on the elevator drive only during an emergency operation. After emergency operation, the engine is removed from the drive unit. The gear rim may be composed of several layers of interlocked segments. The layers are mutually shifted in a circumferential direction. Each segment consists of laminated/interlocked sheet metal segments, which are, as mass-produced goods, cheaply producible through cutting and punching procedures.

Portable emergency drive for an elevator

An actuating device for an elevator having a gearless drive having a motor, a traction sheave over which support ropes are passed and a motor braking device is in the form of a hand drive adapted to be engaged with the motor shaft for emergency elevator operation with a handwheel for manual motor shaft activation. The hard drive may include a gear coupling the handwheel and an output coupling in the form of a grooved hub. The braking device of the elevator is mounted to a pedistal having a cover with an opening through which the hub may be inserted to engage the motor shaft.

Actuating device for emergency operation of a gearless drive machine of an elevator

A lift drive unit support apparatus consists of multiple height-adjustable mounts, which conduct the forces of the drive unit to a foundation, fasten the drive unit in an earthquake-proof manner, and isolate it in terms of solid-borne sound from the foundation. The drive unit can be levelled in height by means of a tool, such as a shaft spanner, by way of an adjusting sleeve screwed into the engine frame. A foot plate inserted below the adjusting sleeve transmits vertical forces from the adjusting sleeve to a damping element. Horizontal forces are transmitted from the adjusting sleeve by way of a tube to a base plate and from there to an anchor bolt, which also prevents upward lift-off of the drive unit.

Support of a drive unit for a lift

A brake device has magnets arranged on a frame that is fastened to a bearing pedestal of an elevator drive machine. The frame includes a pair of spaced stabilizers attached to a pair of magnet carriers on which the magnets are fastened. The magnets act on disk armatures arranged on brake arms pivoted on the pedestal. The magnetic forces act in opposition to the spring forces of compression springs and release the brake shoes from a brake drum, the forces which then occur being absorbed by the frame.

Brake device for a drive machine of an elevator

A drive unit has a traction sheave mounted on an end of a drive shaft supported by a bearing that is mounted on an extension of a bearing plate that is part of the motor casing. The traction sheave has an extension that serves as a brake drum. Mounted between the traction sheave and the casing, the brake drum together with first brake arms, second brake arms, first electromagnets, second electromagnets, first compression springs and second compression springs form the braking device of the drive unit. On a top of the bearing plate is a first arm linkage and at the bottom of the bearing plate is a second arm linkage. The force of the first compression spring is transmitted to the brake drum by the first brake arm, the required friction force on the brake drum being generated by a first brake lining mounted on a first brake shoe. The friction force on the second half of the brake is generated analogously. To release the brake the electromagnets are activated, these overcoming the forces of the compression springs and lifting the brake shoes together with the brake linings off brake drum.

Drive unit for elevators

A gearless drive machine for elevators has a machine frame on which are mounted a counter roller carrier, a bearing block and an end plate block. The elevator cable strand spacing can be adjusted by a counter roller coupled to the counter roller carrier, whereby both a left-hand and right-hand overhang of the counter roller is possible with the same construction of the machine frame. A main shaft is supported at two places at a drive output end by a moveable bearing mounted in the bearing block and a fixed bearing mounted in the end plate block. A drive pulley having brake disc is located between the bearings and is coupled to the main shaft by a first detachable coupling. The support of the drive pulley on both sides thereof allows great radial loads with only small deformations of the main shaft. A hoist motor supplied with alternating voltage has a stator with windings and a rotor with a rotor hub slidable onto the main shaft. A second detachable coupling at the driven end of the main shaft provides a firm connection between the main shaft and the rotor hub.
