A semiconductor package comprises a controlled voltage domain (CVD) and a master voltage domain (MVD). The MVD comprises an error-tolerance control (ETC) circuit. A basic execution block in the CVD generates a basic output value, based on at least two input values. A test execution block in the CVD generates a test digital root, based on digital roots of the input values. A digital root comparator in the CVD determines whether a digital root of the basic output value matches the test digital root. An error reporter in the CVD sends an error report to the ETC circuit in response to a determination that the digital roots do not match. The ETC may automatically adjust at least one power characteristic of the CVD, based on the error report. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

Error-tolerant architecture for power-efficient computing

Systems and methods of reducing transmission time are described. Uniform-sized original packets are generated from a data frame having a payload with an identifier and data. The packets include the identifier, total block number, block index that specifies an order of the packet, and the data. The packets are encoded to form redundant packets with the identifier, block number, block index and redundant data. The available block index for the original and redundant packets are different. The packets are transmitted by individual modems over different channels at transmission rates that are each configured to minimize free space in an input buffer of the modem and are dependent on feedback from the receiver. The feedback indicates a difference between the transmission rate and a reception rate. The encoding rate is dependent on the original packets over the original and redundant packets or a maximum transmission rate over the remaining transmission rates.

Transmission latency reduction

Examples are disclosed for wireless communication between a terminal computing device and a wearable computing device. In some examples, wireless local area network (WLAN) transmissions for packets of various sizes may be transmitted from a terminal computing device to a wearable computing device. At least some of the WLAN transmissions may be used by the terminal computing device to communicate to the wearable computing device based on the wearable computing device having an ability to detect the variable packet sizes. Other examples are described and claimed.

Techniques for wireless communication between a terminal computing device and a wearable computing device

System and techniques for direct motion sensor input to rendering pipeline are described herein. A view parameter may be received, via an input port to a rendering pipeline, from a sensor. A rendering object may be assigned to a shader in the rendering pipeline. The view parameter may be applied to the shader to re-render the rendering object. The re-rendered rendering object may be output to an output interlink, the output interlink providing instruction to display the re-rendered rendering object.

Techniques for forming a wireless RF power harvesting and data network are described. An example electronic device includes an antenna array, a processor, and instructions to direct the actions of the processor. The instructions control the processor to perform a registration process for a power harvesting device. The registration process is to obtain information that enables the transmission of a targeted power packet to the power harvesting device through beamforming. The instructions also direct the processor transmit the targeted power packet to the power harvesting device.

Power harvesting

Data is received from a physical coding sublayer (PCS) of a physical layer, where the physical layer comprises a BASE-R physical layer. The data is used to generate a forward error correction (FEC) block comprising a shortened cyclic code comprising 32 rows of a particular number of bits, the particular number of bits comprise payload bits generated from output of the PCS and one or more bits of transcoding overhead, wherein the FEC block further comprises 32 parity bits at the end of the FEC block. The FEC block is scrambled using a pseudo-noise sequence. The FEC block is sent to a physical medium attachment (PMA) sublayer of the physical layer.

Techniques to perform forward error correction for an electrical backplane

Described is an apparatus which comprises: an antenna to sense or receive energy from an external source; a harvesting module to harvest power according to the sensed or received energy; a decoder coupled to the harvesting module, the decoder to decode the sensed or received energy and to generate one or more commands; and one or more switches operable to turn on or off according to the one or more commands.

Apparatus and method for controlling wearable devices using wireless energy harvesting

A media independent interface and circuitry of a forward error correction (FEC) sublayer are provided, the circuitry of the FEC sublayer to perform forward error correction, the FEC sublayer coupled to a physical coding sublayer and a physical medium attachment (PMA) sublayer. The FEC sublayer include an encoder having a reverse gearbox, a compressor coupled to said reverse gearbox, a selector coupled to said compressor, a parity generator coupled to said compressor, a multiplexer coupled to said compressor, selector and said parity generator, a scrambler coupled to said multiplexer, and a pseudo-noise generator coupled to said scrambler.

Machine-readable media, methods, apparatus and system for managing an encoder output rate at least partially based upon wireless communication link feedback are described. In some embodiments, a device driver of the system may generate link information indicating quality of a wireless communication link between the system and another system, wherein the link information is generated at least partially based upon at least one of media access layer (MAC) information and physical layer information of the system. A system managing entity of the system may manage an output rate of an encoder of the system at least partially based upon the link information.

Techniques to perform forward error correction for an electrical backplane are described including forward error correction (FEC) circuitry to perform forward error correction, physical coding sublayer circuitry, and physical medium attachment (PMA) circuitry. The FEC circuitry provides primitives comprising a FEC_UNITDATA.request primitive, a FEC_UNITDATA.signal primitive, and FEC_UNITDATA.indication primitive, the FEC sublayer and includes an encoder having a reverse gearbox and a pseudo-noise generator.

A method is disclosed for mitigating narrowband interference within a system for wideband communications. The method can include separating a wideband signal into a plurality of sub bands, detecting energy levels in the sub-bands, and activating a control signal if the energy levels of the sub-bands differ by a predetermined amount. Such a difference in energy levels can indicate that narrowband interference is present and interference mitigation features can be activated. In another embodiment, a system is disclosed that has a band splitter and a plurality of energy level detectors to detect energy differences in the sub bands. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

Embodiments of a space-time decoder and methods for decoding Alamouti-encoded signals in high-Doppler environments are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed. In some embodiments, soft-symbol outputs are generated from received symbols, a channel rate-of-change, and channel coefficients. Maximum-likelihood decoding may be performed to generate hard-symbol outputs from the soft-symbol outputs.

Space-time decoder and methods for decoding alamouti-encoded signals in high-doppler environments

In some embodiments a method is disclosed for detecting periodic interference and predicting future interference times. The method can include detecting an arrival time of a first occurrence of interference and detecting an arrival time of a second occurrence of interference. The method can include transmitting preemptive interference mitigation control signals that anticipate future arrival times of interference. A system is disclosed that includes a periodicity detector, an interference profiler and a mitigation control module. The system can provide interference mitigation features to a data recovery system. Other embodiments are disclosed.

Apparatus and methods are provided to decode signals from a communication channel to reconstruct transmitted information. Embodiments may include applying a plurality of decoders to a code, in which reliability values are provided to a decoder such that the decoder receives the reliability values determined by and provided from only one other decoder of the plurality of decoders. A valid codeword may be output from application of the plurality of decoders to the code.
