Water purification occurs under the influence of cold plasma obtained in water, which has a two-phase state, in which water and the smallest bubbles filled with gases dissolved in water are simultaneously present in the turbulence zone. The plasma is ignited inside the gas bubbles when exposed to an electric high-voltage nanosecond pulse. Since the turbulence zone located behind the flow body is saturated-saturated with fine bubbles, the plasma discharge in the bubbles becomes voluminous and diffuse in consistency. The combination of the hydrodynamic effect on water by the flow body and the generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in a volumetric plasma discharge in the turbulence zone causes a synergistic effect that increases the efficiency of water treatment.

Device, system, and method for flow-through-plasma-hydrodynamic-reactor-based water treatment

The device provided relates to the field of water purification and disinfection. The device for water purification works by exposing water to an hydroxyl radicals and includes a corona discharge reactor, an ejector, at least one solenoid valve, control electronics, a mixing chamber. Inside the reactor there is a group of pin discharge electrodes, an earthen solid electrode, a chamber of saturated vapors of treated water, and the reactor is interfaced to the ejector. The device allows to obtain at the output of the device water with a high degree of purification, as from biological pollution, as well as to get rid of many undesirable chemical compounds present in the source water by their oxidation to safe products.

Device for hydroxyl-radical-based water disinfection and purification and method of use

A device for obtaining and applying a disinfectant agent and method of use are provided. The device includes a pre-processing cascade unit that activates (ionizes) air, with the activated air being supplied by an air pump to an inlet of a sprayer, where the activated air mixes with an initial working fluid (distilled water) to form an activated air-working fluid aerosol mixture that is sprayed by the sprayer into a reactor of cone-shaped volumetric cold plasma that includes divergent discharge electrodes. The device further includes a unit for generating high-voltage pulses of a nanosecond duration that is connected to the discharge electrodes and that causes the electrodes to generate electrical discharges. Upon the mixture coming into contact with the electrical discharges, potent disinfectant agents (such as peroxynitrite and one or more peroxynitrite's precursors or derivatives) are synthesized and expelled from the device.
