An OSFP optical transceiver having split multiple fiber optical port using reduced amount of MPO terminations is provided that includes two adjacent sockets integrated into the optical port of the OSFP optical transceiver. The two adjacent sockets are vertically oriented with respect to the mounting baseplate of the OSFP optical transceiver, and each of the two adjacent sockets is adapted to receive an MPO receptacle that terminates the proximal end of a bundle of fibers. The OSFP optical transceiver also includes an optical connection between each socket and a corresponding lens in the OSFP optical transceiver, for transmitting optical signals received from other transceivers into the OSFP optical transceiver and optical signals generated in the OSFP optical transceiver to other transceivers.

Device connectable to a printed circuit board with high precision

Apparatuses, systems, and methods are described that provide improved networking communication systems and associated adapters. An example networking communication adapter includes an adapter housing defining a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The first end is configured to engage an Octal Small Form Factor Pluggable (OSFP) connector, and the second end is configured to receive a Quad Small Form Factor Pluggable Double Density (QSFP-DD) transceiver therein. The networking communication adapter further includes an inner connector positioned within the adapter housing. In an operational configuration in which the first end engages the OSFP connector and the second end receives the QSFP-DD transceiver, the inner connector operably connects the QSFP-DD transceiver with the OSFP connector such that signals may pass therebetween.

A networking system includes a pluggable security device comprising at least one port interface that is insertable into at least one physical port, memory that stores a security key used to provide security over a network link, and processing circuitry coupled with the at least one port interface and with the memory. The processing circuitry utilizes the security key to verify security of a point-to-point connection established over the network link and after verifying the security of the point-to-point connection, provides a data integrity check function for data packets received at the at least one port interface.

Pluggable security devices and systems including the same

An authentication method, network switch, and network device are provided. In one example, a method is described that includes receiving a first signal indicative of a data lane being activated and configured to carry data to or within the network switch, receiving a second signal indicative of an authentication lane being established in the network switch or a device connected to the network switch, where the authentication lane is different from the data lane, and enabling data transmission across the data lane only in response to receiving the second signal indicative of the authentication lane being established.

In one embodiment, an apparatus, includes an MPO connector including a main body including a connector interface to be reversibly connected to an MPO interface of an optical module, locking elements configured to lock the MPO connector with the optical module, a pull-to-release housing configured to expose the locking elements to allow removal of the MPO connector from the optical module, and an elongated channel, wherein the pull-to release housing and main body define a slot therebetween in which to retract the pull-to-release housing, and a T-shape locking key including a top section and a flexible elongated section extending from the top section, the elongated section configured to be inserted into the channel and the top section configured to rest in the slot so that retraction of the pull-to-release housing is restricted by the top section, thereby preventing unlocking of the MPO connector from the optical module.

In one embodiment, a female data-connector device includes a housing having a socket to insert therein a first paddle-card having a first form-factor and a second paddle-card having a second form-factor, the socket includes an upper and lower surface, with N contact pins arranged in a first row and M contact pins arranged in a second row on the upper surface, P contact pins arranged in a first row and Q contact pins arranged in a second row on the lower surface, the M and Q and some of the N and P contact pins are arranged to make contact with contact pads of the first paddle-card, the N and P contact pins are arranged to make contact with contact pads of the second paddle-card, N is greater than M, and P is greater than Q, and termination legs to be connected to a printed circuit board.

A communication device includes a mechanical frame, which is configured to be inserted into a multi-channel Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) receptacle that is compliant with a first SFP standard and to receive inside the frame an SFP connector that is compliant with a second SFP standard, which is different from the first SFP standard. First electrical terminals, held by the mechanical frame, are configured to mate with respective first pins of the SFP receptacle, and second electrical terminals, electrically coupled within the mechanical frame to the first electrical terminals, are configured to mate with respective second pins of the SFP connector. A heat sink is mounted on the mechanical frame and configured to make a positive contact with the SFP connector when the SFP connector is inserted into the mechanical frame and to be contained completely within the SFP receptacle when the mechanical frame is inserted into the SFP receptacle.

A communication device includes a mechanical frame, which is configured to be inserted into a multi-channel Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) receptacle that is compliant with a first SFP standard and to receive inside the frame an SFP connector that is compliant with a second SFP standard, which is different from the first SFP standard. First electrical terminals, held by the mechanical frame, are configured to mate with respective first pins of the SFP receptacle, and second electrical terminals, electrically coupled within the mechanical frame to the first electrical terminals, are configured to mate with respective second pins of the SFP connector. A heat sink is mounted in the mechanical frame and configured to make a positive contact with the SFP connector when the SFP connector is inserted into the mechanical frame.

Apparatuses and associated methods of manufacturing are described that provide an adaptive connector configured to connect between a cable connector and a switch module in a datacenter. The adaptive connector includes a body defining a top, bottom, and two side portions extending between the top and bottom portion. The body of the adaptive connector defines a first end for receiving the cable connector and a second end that is received by a switch module for enabling signals to pass between the cable connector and switch module. The adaptive connector further defines a heat dissipation elements for transferring heat between the adaptive connector and an external environment of the adaptive connector.

Adaptive datacenter connector

A method for producing a fiberoptic fan-out includes creating a splice joint between a first fiberoptic cable and two or more second fiberoptic cables, such that at the splice joint, each of a plurality of first optical fibers in the first fiberoptic cable is spliced to a respective second optical fiber in one of the second fiberoptic cables. A tube slides over the cables to a position at which the splice joint is contained inside the tube. While the splice joint is contained inside the tube, the tube is filled with a fixative so as to fix the splice joint in the position.
