An apparatus and system of establishing receive timing difference (RTD) for high subcarrier spacing (SCS) are described. The RTD is dependent on whether carrier aggregation (CA) or dual connectivity (DC) is used. For CA, RTD reflects the entire time difference between carriers caused by a Timing Alignment Error (TAE) and propagation delay difference between slots aligned at transmission. For DC, RTD is between the closest slot boundaries and reflects only slot boundary misalignment without considering the slot index.

Receive timing difference for inter-band asynchronous NR-DC operation

Techniques for changing a Transmission Configuration Indication (TCI) state by a user equipment (UE) operating in a wireless communications system are provided. The UE receives a first message including a TCI state change command from a network and determines, based on the first message, whether a time offset/frequency offset (TO/FO) and a reception (Rx) beam for a new TCI state are known by the UE. Based on the determination, the UE calculates a time delay of the UE to be prepared to receive a reference signal with the new TCI state, generates a second message indicating the time delay of the UE for the new TCI state, and transmits the second message to the network.

Transmission configuration indication (TCI) state and beam switching

Systems and methods of providing RAT co-existence and congestion control in V2V communications are generally described. A vUE detects specific non-LTE RAT transmissions in a listening period of a PSCCH or PSSCH, determines whether a metric has been met and reselects to a non-overloaded channel to communicate with other vUEs or the eNB. The manner of reselection is dependent on the RAT specific or V2X service priorities of the channels, as well as whether the channels are V2V service dependent.

Intra- and inter-RAT co-existence and congestion control for LTE PC5-based vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication

A user equipment (UE) can include processing circuitry coupled to memory. To configure the UE for New Radio (NR) communications above a 52.6 GHz carrier frequency, the processing circuitry is to decode radio resource control (RRC) signaling to obtain a cyclic shift value in time domain. The cyclic shift value is associated with a demodulation reference signal (DM-RS) antenna port (AP) of a plurality of available DM-RS APs. A single carrier based waveform DM-RS sequence corresponding to the DM-RS AP is generated using a base sequence and the cyclic shift value. The single carrier based waveform DM-RS sequence is encoded with uplink data for transmission to a base station using a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) using a carrier above the 52.6 GHz carrier frequency.

Reference signal and control information processing in 5G-NR wireless systems

Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Next Generation Node-B (gNB), Evolved Node-B (eNB) and methods of communication are generally described herein. The UE may detect one or more LTE synchronization signals from an eNB over an LTE Uu interface between the UE and the eNB. The LTE synchronization signals may be detected in resources allocated for LTE communication. The LTE synchronization signals may be detected in accordance with an LTE protocol. The UE may determine, based on the LTE synchronization signals, a reference timing and a reference frequency for NR vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication over an NR PC5 interface with another UE.

Sidelink communication under control of LTE UU interface or NR interface

Various embodiments herein provide techniques for preventing radio link failure in ultra-reliable and low latency communication (URLLC). Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

Methods for radio link failure prevention for URLLC

A user equipment (UE), gNodeB or network component can be configured to support a data-aided sidelink synchronization. In response to losing a sidelink synchronization reference, sidelink synchronization tracking or performing an initial sidelink synchronization, data-aided sidelink synchronization can be performed by deriving or maintaining a sidelink synchronization from a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH), or a physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) transmission of another network device, UE or vehicle to everything (V2X) based on data of another reference signal that is with the PSCCH or the PSSCH transmission.

Data-aided sidelink synchronization for NR V2X communication

Implementations of this disclosure generally may relate to the field of wireless communications. More specifically, implementations described in this disclosure relate to different 3GPP LTE and LTE-A system enhancements to address the issue and support reliable V2X operation in the high mobility environments. Several solutions to improve the V2X system performance in the high mobility vehicular channel propagation conditions are described. Some aspects relate to the suggestion of a new DMRS patterns within individual subframes that promote more accurate CFO estimation. Moreover, another aspect provides DMRS mapping or puncturing patterns to transmit individual DMRS in a periodic pattern on respective OFDM/SC-FDMA symbols so that they do not occupy all REs of the OFDM/SC-FDMA symbols, respectively.

V2X performance enhancements in high speed environments

A method, system, and computer-readable media for evaluating the accuracy of user equipment (UE) reference signal receive power (RSRP) measurements is disclosed. This includes determining both a total reference signal receive power (RSRP) accuracy and a RSRP baseband accuracy associated with the UE. This also includes executing a plurality of comparisons between the total RSRP accuracy, the RSRP baseband accuracy, and a plurality of accuracy thresholds, and then determining the UE passes a measurement accuracy test based on the plurality of comparisons.

Measuring nr reference signal receive power (RSRP) by over the air signals

An approach is described to for new radio (NR) antenna test function (ATF) measurements by a user equipment (UE). The approach includes measuring a first average phase of receive signals on resource elements that carry secondary synchronization signals (SS) received by a reference individual receiver branch. The approach also includes measuring a second average phase of the receive signals on the resource elements that carry secondary synchronization signals received by one other individual receiver branch different from the reference individual receiver branch. The approach further includes determining a difference between the first average phase and the second average phase. An indication of the difference is reported to test equipment.

Receive antenna relative phase measurements for NR

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium stores instructions for execution by one or more processors of a UE. The instructions configure the UE for low latency NR positioning in a 5G NR network and cause the UE to perform operations comprising decoding configuration signaling received from a base station. The configuration signaling includes measurement gap information and scheduling information for a UE measurement report. A downlink (DL) positioning reference signal (PRS) received from the base station is decoded. Positioning measurements are performed using the DL PRS. The positioning measurements are performed based on a measurement gap corresponding to the measurement gap information. The UE measurement report is encoded for a UL transmission to the base station based on the scheduling information. The UE measurement report includes the positioning measurements.

Techniques for supporting low latency NR positioning protocols

A system, method, and apparatus is provided for performing testing using arrival of angles (AOA). The system, method, and apparatus can receive a first test signal from a first cell; receive a second test signal from a second cell; and perform a test based on AOA of the first test signal and the second test signal. At least one of the first test signal and the second test signal can include a channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) signal or a synchronization signal block (SSB) signal. The first test signal can include a different number of SSBs transmitted during an Measurement Timing Configuration (MTC) window when compared to the second test signal. The system, method, and apparatus can receive the first test signal and the second test signal in a time division multiple access (TDMA) manner. The first cell can include a serving cell and the second cell can include a neighboring cell of the serving cell. The system, method, and apparatus can receive the first test signal using a main lobe of an antenna and the second test signal using a side lobe of the antenna.

Radio resource management (RRM) testing using angle of arrival (AOA)

An apparatus of user equipment (UE) includes processing circuitry coupled to a memory, where to configure the UE for New Radio (NR) vehicle-to-everything (V2X) sidelink communication. The processing circuitry is to determine a set of candidate resources of the UE from a sidelink resource pool, the sidelink resource divided into multiple time slots, frequency channels, and frequency sub-channels. Sidelink control information (SCI) is encoded for transmission to a second UE via a physical sidelink control channel (PSCCH). The SCI indicates a plurality of transmission resources of the set of candidate resources. A transport block is mapped across the plurality of transmission resources. A physical sidelink shared channel (PSSCH) is encoded for transmission to the second UE using the plurality of transmission resources, the PSSCH encoded to include the mapped transport block.

Resource allocation and processing behaviors for NR V2X sidelink communications

Embodiments of a User Equipment (UE), Generation Node-B (gNB) and methods of communication are disclosed herein. The UE may attempt to decode sidelink synchronization signals (SLSSs) received on component carriers (CCs) of a carrier aggregation. In one configuration, synchronization resources for SLSS transmissions may be aligned across the CCs at subframe boundaries in time, restricted to a portion of the CCs, and restricted to a same sub-frame. The UE may, for multiple CCs, determine a priority level for the CC based on indicators in the SLSSs received on the CC. The UE may select, from the CCs on which one or more SLSSs are decoded, the CC for which the determined priority level is highest. The UE may determine a reference timing for sidelink communication based on the one or more SLSSs received on the selected CC.

Resource partitioning for pre-emption indication

Techniques for sidelink resource selection, reselection, and reevaluation are disclosed. An apparatus for a user equipment (UE) includes processing circuitry coupled to memory. To configure the UE for 5G-NR sidelink communications, the processing circuitry is to decode an SCI format received via a PSCCH. The SCI format includes priority information for a scheduled PSSCH transmission. RRC signaling is decoded to determine first configuration information and second configuration information. The first configuration information identifies a sensing window, and the second configuration information identifies a resource selection window. A boundary of the resource selection window is based on the priority information. A set of candidate single-slot resources is determined during the sensing window using a resource pool. A resource is selected during the resource selection window from the set of candidate single-slot resources. Control information is encoded for a sidelink transmission via the PSCCH, where the sidelink transmission uses the resource.
