A system and method is provided that enables voice recognition for legacy operating systems of a computing device. An exemplary method includes receiving speech-based instructions from a user of mobile device that indicate a request for executing a task. The speech-based instructions are then analyzed by an intelligent personal assistant running on the mobile device to determine an intent of the user. If the intent of the user identifies a specialized client software module installed on the mobile, the software module will generate a command object that includes parameters relating to the execution of the task. The command object is then transmitted by the first computing device to a personal computer with a legacy operating system where the command object causes a software agent installed on the personal computer to execute the task based on the parameters included in the command object.

System and method for enabling voice recognition for operating system

Described herein is a system and method for controlling a remote computer over a remote session. In an exemplary aspect, the method comprises receiving, by an intelligent personal assistant (IPA), a speech-based instruction from a user of a mobile device, the speech-based instruction comprising a request to execute a task; in response to determining, based on analysis of the speech-based instruction, an intent of the user to initiate the remote session with the remote computer: identifying, by the IPA, a remote client on the mobile device for creating the remote session with the remote computer via the cloud infrastructure; generating, by the IPA, a command object that causes a software agent on the remote computer to execute the task; and transmitting, by the IPA, the command object through the remote session to the remote computer; and presenting results for execution of the task in an interface of the remote client.

System for synchronization of content between open applications. Remote access server (RAS) provides remote desktop to a mobile device. The mobile device has a remote access client component and communicates with the RAS and with an authorization component. First computer with a host application is connected to the RAS. Second computer is connected to the RAS and has a native application or a VM with a guest application. Authentication component authenticates the mobile device and the computers. The RAS synchronizes data between the mobile device and the computers, and provides a remote desktop for the mobile device via a remote access client component. The remote desktop includes the host application. Data entered in the host application for the first computer on the mobile device appears in the remote desktop via the RAS, and is synchronized with the guest application on the second computer.

A method for editing a non-native file on a mobile device using a remote application, including establishing a connection between a local-side component and a remote-side component on a remote computer; wherein the local-side component identifies an editor on the remote computer based on parameters of the file; on the remote computer, activating an editor for a file located on the mobile device; upon selection of the editor, using the local-side component to transmit the file to the remote-side component; storing the file in a storage on the remote computer; opening the file using the editor and giving the editor control over the file using a protocol for remote connection; editing the file on the mobile device as if the editor on the remote computer were native; saving the file on the remote storage and transmitting the file to the mobile device; and replacing the file on the mobile device with the transmitted file.

A method for selecting the text on a remote computer or a server from a mobile device is provided. Actions of a user for selecting a text area on the mobile device are emulated on a remote server. A user initiates text selection on a mobile device using touch screen functionality, which is reflected on selected elements of a remote server. Once the mobile device user completes the selection, the emulator selects a corresponding area of the server screen. All mobile device user actions related to selection of text area are emulated on a remote server.

A method, system and computer program product for emulation of a virtual application bookmark on a host desktop. When a user launches a VM (running Windows&#x2122;), shortcuts to user applications are created on the desktop. In Parallels&#x2122; Desktop&#x2122;, the VM shortcuts and MAC bookmarks can both be seen and be functional. A special file is created in MAC OS X with Windows&#x2122; icon. The file is associated with the VM from which the file was created, and resource link corresponding to the original shortcut. The bookmark thus contains a reference to an application icon in the VM, which the user can launch from the host OS by clicking on it.

In a virtualized system, a number of Virtual Machines (VMs) have their own GUIs. A full screen desktop has active corners that roll up in response to user action, such as mouse move or touch screen action. An active corner of the desktop rolls up allowing a user to select another VM application or another display mode without taking any special actions for getting out of a full screen mode. The switch feature does not take up any space on the desktop.

A system and method for implementing direct attachment of VMs, implemented on a computer system, to hardware devices attached to the computer system. Direct attachment architecture is implemented. The direct attachment is an exclusive dedication of a hardware device to a VM, where a particular hardware device is assigned to a particular VM. When the VM is not activated, the hardware device can be re-assigned to another VM. At system start up, hardware devices are masked from a host OS of a computer system and are automatically attached to the assigned VMs.

A method for displaying non-native application windows on a computing system that has the host OS and a host desktop, the method including displaying the host desktop; upon a user invoking the non-native application by selecting an object associated with the non-native user application in the host OS, launching the non-native application on a server, wherein the non-native application is incompatible with the host OS and cannot execute under the host OS; and displaying the non-native application in a non-native application window on the computing system on the host OS desktop. The non-native application window has a native look-and-feel of the host OS, and control elements of the non-native application window appear native. Objects within the non-native application window can be drag-and-dropped to the host OS desktop as if they were native objects of the host OS.
