A method of producing a dispenser for a viscous substance comprising forming a barrel having a top surface with plurality of apertures at one end, directly molding a thermoplastic seal unit onto said top surface, said thermoplastic flowing into said plurality of apertures during molding to form a seal unit having a substantially planar section and a plurality of depending projections. The seal unit can be removable and usually not replaceable after each use of the dispenser. The seal unit can have pull tabs for the easy removal of the seal unit. This seal unit provides a positive seal for the lotion or gel substance that is to be dispensed from the barrel.

Method for forming a dispenser

A dispenser has a barrel which is closed at one end by a base and has a plurality of apertures at the other end through which a viscous material such as a gel or lotion is dispensed. In one aspect, the invention can be a dispenser for a viscous substance comprising: a barrel having a base at a first end and an upper wall area having a plurality of apertures at a second end; a seal unit having a bottom surface with a plurality of projections depending from the bottom surface; and the seal unit positioned so that the bottom surface of the seal unit is in contact with the upper wall area of the barrel and the plurality of projections enter into the plurality of apertures.

Dispenser seal

The carton can be used both as a shipper carton and a display carton. The carton comprises two or more channels for containing products. The channels can be opened to maintain the integrity of the carton for use as a display carton by maintaining the integrity of the base wall, but with the removal of substantially all of the top wall of each channel and a significant portion of the sidewalls of each channel. The remaining part of the sidewalls, a rear wall and the base provide the structure for the use of the carton as a display carton. If used as a shipper, a tear strip on the base wall is removed and the carton fully opened and emptied. The carton is made from a unique carton blank and a unique folding of the panels of the blank to make the carton. In particular the abutting walls of the channels are of a unique structure with each having a separate sidewall and these separate sidewalls not connected to the base wall.

Shipper and display carton
