Implementations generally relate to a user interface for an earbud device. In some implementations, a method includes detecting contact of a finger of a user on a touch user interface of an earbud device. The method further includes determining a contact pattern based on movement of the finger on the touch user interface. The method further includes mapping the contact pattern to a predetermined command. The method further includes executing the predetermined command based on the mapping.

User interface for an earbud device

A device for transferring data. The device includes a processor operable to process a header portion of data without processing a payload. Processing the header portion generates a processed header. The processor may signal a direct memory access (DMA) unit to access the payload of the data. As a result, the DMA accesses and passes the payload to a wireless interface for transmission to a destination electronic device based on the processed header. The processor used to process the header portion may be a processor of an electronic device, e.g., a cellular phone, a PDA, etc. Alternatively, the processor may be a processor of a removable memory component. In one embodiment, the processor may be a processor of a module adapted to receive a removable memory and further adapted to couple to an electronic device, e.g., a cellular phone, a PDA, etc., where the removable memory includes its own processor.

Method and system for transferring data between wireless devices

A wireless headphone assembly has left and right speakers attached to ends of a headphone body, and at least two antennas, e.g., one located at each speaker. Since multiple antennas are used, reception can be improved using one of several approaches, e.g., simple selection of the 'best' antenna, multiplexing antenna input, using diversity algorithms such as multiple input multiple output (MIMO) algorithms, etc.

A game apparatus according to a preferred embodiment includes a first wireless communication module and a second wireless communication module. The first wireless communication module performs communication utilizing Bluetooth protocols, whereas the second wireless communication module performs communication utilizing IEEE protocols. In so doing, the control unit monitors the communication load of the first wireless communication module and sets the offset time based on a monitored result.

Method of selecting one of dual antennas

A low complexity digital modulator, which is particularly useful for providing Gaussian frequency shift keying (GFSK) modulation, includes a filter, an integrator and a look-up table (LUT) stage. The filter is configured to receive a series of impulses and to generate a predetermined and fixed sequence of instantaneous frequency samples in response to each received impulse. The generated instantaneous frequency samples represent a predetermined type of filtering, such as Gaussian filtering, of the series of impulses. The integrator is configured to receive and integrate the instantaneous frequency samples to generate a sequence of phase samples. The LUT stage is configured to receive the phase samples and to generate sine and cosine samples of a complex baseband signal in response to each phase sample. The LUT stage stores only one quadrant of cosine samples and calculates the other cosine samples and all of the sine samples from the stored cosine samples. A controller generates and provides the series of impulses to the modulator. Transmitter digital-to-analog converters convert the sine and cosine samples of the complex baseband signal to analog form prior to transmission.

Apparatus and method for implementing a low complexity digital modulator

An apparatus for receiving signals includes a low noise amplifier (LNA) configured to receive a radio frequency (RF) signal. An I/Q direct down converter is coupled to the LNA. The I/Q direct down converter is configured to split the RF signal into real and imaginary components and to down convert the real and imaginary components directly to baseband signals. A local oscillator (LO) is coupled to the I/Q direct down converter and is configured to drive the I/Q direct down converter. First and second filters are coupled to the I/Q direct down converter. The first and second filters are configured to filter the down converted real and imaginary components, respectively. First and second analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are coupled to the first and second filters, respectively. The first and second ADCs are configured to convert the real and imaginary components into digital signals. The first and second ADCs have a dynamic range that is wide enough to convert the filtered, down converted real and imaginary components to digital signals without using variable gain on the filtered and down converted real and imaginary components. An apparatus for use in wireless communications includes a radio, a modem and a controller integrated onto a single integrated circuit (IC). The radio includes a receiver for receiving data and a transmitter for transmitting data. The modem is coupled to the radio and is configured to demodulate received data and modulate data for transmission. The controller is coupled to the modem and includes a digital interface for external communications through which received data and data for transmission is sent, a connection state machine configured to accept commands through the digital interface and to respond to the commands by initiating a sequence, and a receive/transmit state machine configured to perform state control of the radio in response to the initiated sequence.
