A support for a computing device display includes an upper arm, a lower arm, and a joint connecting the upper arm and the lower arm. The upper arm and the lower arm are rotatable with respect to one another about a longitudinal axis of the joint. The upper arm is rotatable with respect to the joint about a first axis orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the joint. The lower arm is rotatable with respect to the joint about a second axis orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the joint.

Indicator window for a display support

A support arm for supporting a load such as a display device. The support arm includes a housing defining an indicator window, a balancing mechanism in the housing, and an adjustment mechanism to adjust a counterbalancing force or torque provided by the balancing mechanism to counterbalance the weight of the load. The support arm further includes an indicator arrangement visible in the indicator window to provides a visual indication of the relative force or torque provided by the balancing mechanism. The indicator arrangement may include a lens in the indicator window. The indicator arrangement may include indicia to facilitate the visual indication of relative force or torque. The indicator arrangement may include a portion of the adjustment mechanism or balancing mechanism.

A flat-screen monitor support comprises a body having means for attachment of a monitor thereto and a locking means operable to lock against a support post extending through the body and through the locking means. The locking means supports the body to prevent the body from sliding down the post under the weight of a monitor attached to the body. The body is rotatable relative to the locking means about an axis of a support post extending through the body and locking means, when the locking mechanism is locked to the support post. In addition, a support base for securing a flat-screen monitor support to a table surface, comprising a support post having a support plate secured to one end thereof, a seat cup to sit on a table surface and receive therein the support plate with the support post upstanding from the table surface, and a clamp bracket to sit on the support plate with a tightening means positionable against an underside of a table surface, to clamp the support plate, seat cup and table top together. Once secured to a table top, the support plate is rotatable relative to the seat cup and the clamp member to enable a user to position a flat-screen monitor relative to the support base.

The support includes a pair of support members () connected by a pivot joint () to enable relative movement of the support members () about an axis of rotation, the joint () including an outer hub () mounted for rotation about the axis within a clamping member () attached to one support member (), an inner hub () mounted to the other support member () coaxial with the outer hub () and being rotatable about the axis relative to the outer hub () in a first direction and, a clutch member () between the inner and outer hub () engageable in response to rotation of the inner hub () in the opposite direction such that the outer hub () rotates together with the inner hub () when a compressive force exerted on the outer hub () by the clamping member () is overcome. A universal joint () is also disclosed.
