A method for fabricating a microelectromechanical system device. Submerging a microelectromechanical system device in water. The microelectromechanical system devices include a sacrificial layer deposited on the surface of a substrate between the portion of a structural layer to be freed for movement and a base. Anodically etching the sacrificial layer from the microelectromechanical device to free the portion of the structural layer for movement. A system comprising a solution of water, a microelectromechanical system device including a sacrificial layer of chromium deposited on the surface of a substrate between a portion of a structural layer and a base. The microelectromechanical system device is submerged in the solution of water. An electrode is submerged in the water. The electrode provides a negative bias. A voltage source provides a positive bias to the sacrificial layer of chromium, anodically etching the sacrificial layer of chromium and freeing the portion of the structural layer.

Method and system for fabricating a microelectromechanical system device with a movable portion using anodic etching of a sacrificial layer

A method and system involves vacuum sealing a semi-enclosure at room temperature without requiring mechanical actions within the vacuum chamber. The semi-enclosure has an inlet channel that extends inwardly into the vacuum chamber from an exterior opening (entryway) into the semi-enclosure. An uncured entryway vacuum sealant is provided at the entryway for the semi-enclosure. A vacuum is established in the vacuum chamber until the vacuum pressure reaches a desired vacuum pressure that causes the uncured entryway sealant to be provided to the entryway for the semi-enclosure. The uncured entryway vacuum sealant is cured under vacuum pressure in the semi-enclosure in the vacuum chamber.

A lateral flow assay device that is defined by multiple loading zones, wherein a sample pad is located before and upstream from a conjugate pad and another sample pad is located after and downstream from the conjugate pad. During the modified drive oscillation a plurality of the digital proximity switches are configured to switch between an open state and a closed state and generate a time and position output to allow for a determination of each of a plurality of variable oscillation parameters for each oscillation of the modified drive oscillation.

A device includes two electrically isolated metalized posts attached in close proximity to each other on a bendable substrate. When the bendable substrate bends concavely with respect to the surface onto which the posts are mounted, the distance between the tops of the two posts decreases. At a fixed bending curvature, the two posts will meet and complete an electrical circuit. The posts comprise a flexible material so that the meeting of the posts has minimal effect on the spring constant or damping coefficient of the harmonic oscillation.

A method and system for providing a three-dimensional (3D) display. A variable length z-axis is added to each of plural (x,y) cells in a two-dimensional (2D) Cartesian plane creating plural three-dimensional (3D) cells each with a x, y and z axis. The z-axis includes a variable length light source for each of the plural x-y cells. The z-axis also includes a space vector including time and space information. A 3dimension is created by changing a length of the light source. A 2D image cell at (x, y) is moved along the 3D z-axis (x, y, z) with viewing angle (&#x3b1;) to create a converted 3D image. An original 2D image adding z-axis with a space vector can be viewed as a 3D image on any network device (e.g., smart phone, tablet, wearable device, TV, etc.) without additional devices such as 3D glasses, 3D set-top boxes, etc.

A method involves applying a voltage to a first conductive surface and a second conductive surface separated by a conductive surface gap of a distance greater than the distance required to produce a tunneling current between the first and second conductive surfaces when the voltage is applied, and using angled deposition to deposit conductive material on the first and second conductive surfaces to narrow the conductive surface gap until a tunneling current appears across the first and second conductive surfaces responsive to the applied voltage.
