An electronic device and a method for filtering common mode disturbances from a power electronic device are disclosed. In an embodiment the device includes a first capacitor coupled in series to a first one-way conductor, the first one-way conductor allowing current flow in one direction, wherein the first one-way conductor and the first capacitor are coupled between a load node and a reference potential and a second capacitor coupled in series to a second one-way conductor, the second one-way conductor allowing current flow in an opposite direction, wherein the second one-way conductor and the second capacitor are coupled between the load node and the reference potential. The device further includes a third capacitor being coupled between the load node and the reference potential, a first switch bypassing the first one-way conductor and a second switch bypassing the second one-way conductor.

An active filter device and a circuit arrangement comprising an active filter device are disclosed. In an embodiment the active filter device includes sensor terminals for applying a sensor signal depending on a sensed noise signal, an output terminal for providing a correction signal that is suitable for reducing the noise signal, a signal source adapted for generating a correction signal and a high-pass filter coupled between the sensor terminals and the signal source, wherein the correction signal is generated with a dependence on a high-pass filtered sensor signal.

Active filter device and circuit arrangement comprising an active filter device

An EMC active filter capable to maintain a low earth leakage current at all times, thus being compatible with RCD devices. The filter of the invention has an especially simple inductor's structure, where typically the power conductors pass straight through the filter, without windings, and most of the components can be implemented in a modular shunt circuit. Preferably the filter is realized by connecting the shunt module by an IDC device to the phase conductors, or directly to the line and load terminal, thus avoiding cutting and splicing high-current cables. The particular protection circuit of the filter prevents in-rush current at power on, and limits earth leakage current even in case of a fault in the line.

EMC filter

EMC filter, connectable between a supply network and an electric operated appliance to reduce conduction noise between said supply network and said appliance, comprising one voltage regulator having an output terminal whose potential is kept close to the earth potential, in order to reduce the voltage drop, at mains frequency, across a 'Y' capacitor or an active shunt module. In this way the leakage current to earth is sensibly reduced. The device of the invention is especially useful in corner-earthed three-phase lines or in conjunction with RCD devices.
