Technologies for facilitating testing for a communications network are disclosed. An example method includes maintaining a hierarchy of testing environments that replicate at least part of a network core of the 5G communications network to be consistent with a current declared state of the communications network. The network core of the communications network is established virtually using a cloud computing service and the hierarchy of testing environments are generated via the cloud computing service. The method also includes evaluating network functions for entry into or exiting testing environments in the hierarchy, and tracking and recording data associated with testing of the network functions in individual testing environments.

Testing environment for communication services

Arrangements for using a virtual private network via a cellular network are detailed herein. A cellular network can receive, from a client, various characteristics. The cellular network can be used to identify a cluster template based on the characteristics. The cellular network can then instantiate a cluster based on the cluster template on a public cloud computing platform. Access, via a radio access network (RAN) of the cellular network can then be provided to one or more client services executed within the cluster on the public cloud computing platform.

Virtual private network cluster profiling for hybrid cloud cellular networks

Systems, methods, and non-transitory, machine-readable media may facilitate multi-environment cellular network slice testing. A cloud-based test environment may be created and may include multiple cellular network components executed on a cloud-based computing platform. One or more slice testing requests may be received from a service provider system. Responsive to the one or more slice testing requests, one or more network slices may be created, where the one or more network slices may correspond to one or more portions of a cellular network. Slice testing may be performed with the one or more network slices within the cloud-based test environment. Results of the slice testing using the one or more network slices may be obtained.

Multi-environment cellular network slice testing system

Example embodiments are directed towards systems and methods for a fifth generation (5G) cloud-native wireless telecommunication network operated by a mobile network operator (MNO) implemented on a public cloud of a cloud computing service provider. Such a method may include the MNO operating telecommunication network functions (NFs) of the 5G wireless telecommunication network running within the public cloud. An indication may be received that one or more of the NFs of the 5G wireless telecommunication network running within the public cloud has a requirement to connect to another communication service provider (CSP) network different than the 5G cloud-native wireless telecommunication network operated by the MNO. Based on the indication, the system causes an autonomous system number (ASN) of the MNO to be used for network traffic from the one or more NFs to the other CSP network instead of an ASN of the cloud computing service providers.

Usage of wireless telecommunication service provider autonomous system number (ASN) in a cloud-native wireless telecommunication network

Embodiments are directed towards systems and methods for routing network traffic in a fifth-generation New Radio (5G NR) cellular telecommunication network radio access network (RAN) to network functions provided in a cloud service provider environment. One such method includes: configuring first virtual routing and forwarding (VRF) instances on a first router device using information that identifies the network functions and information that identifies Internet Protocol (IP) subnets; configuring second VRF instances on a second router device using information that identifies the network functions and information that identifies the subnets; controlling a first virtual private cloud (VPC) in the cloud service provider environment, the first VPC performing a first network function; and transmitting a first network packet to the first VPC using a first one of the first VRF instances and a first one of the second VRF instances.

Overlay from on-premises router to cloud service provider environment for telecommunication network functions (NFs) to handle multiple virtual routing and forwarding (VRF) protocols

Example embodiments are directed towards data delivery automation of a cloud-managed wireless telecommunication network. A disaggregated data construct is provided in a cloud-native, Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN), fifth-generation New Radio (5G NR) cellular telecommunication network. MNO cloud-native, O-RAN, 5G cellular telecommunication network engines are electronically mapped to components or services of a disaggregated network orchestrator. In an example embodiment, providing the disaggregated data construct may include electronically generating a mapping, via an open application programming interface (API), between a mobile network operator (MNO) cloud-native, O-RAN, 5G NR cellular telecommunication network service disaggregated slice design engine and a disaggregated intent engine of a disaggregated cellular telecommunication network orchestrator. The system operates the cloud-native, O-RAN, 5G NR cellular telecommunication network using the disaggregated data construct.

Data delivery automation of a cloud-managed wireless telecommunication network

Various arrangements of a hybrid cellular network are presented. The hybrid cellular network includes multiple base stations. Multiple subnets are created within a region of a public cloud computing platform. Each subnet can be executed at a different data center of the public cloud computing platform. Cellular network functions are instantiated within the subnets in the region of the public cloud computing platform. Multiple virtual routers that manage the routing of packets for the cellular network functions are created within the subnets.

High availability network function architecture for a hybrid cellular network

Various arrangements of a hybrid cellular network system are detailed herein. The system can include a cellular radio access network (RAN) comprising a plurality of base stations (BSs). Each BS can include an antenna, a physical router; a radio units (RU), and a distributed unit (DU). The system can include multiple pass-through edge data centers (P-EDCs). Each P-EDC is in communication with a different subset of BSs. The system can include an aggregation data center (ADC) in communication with the P-EDCs. The system can further include a breakout edge data center (EDC) executed at an EDC of a cloud computing platform, the B-EDC including a second transit gateway and a virtual router.

Aggregated cloud networking for a hybrid cellular network

Various arrangements of hybrid cloud cellular network systems are presented herein. A cellular radio access network (RAN) that includes multiple base stations (BSs) can be in communication with a cloud computing platform. Multiple cloud-implemented national data center (NDC) instantiations can be present and executed on the cloud computing platform. Network functions (NFs) are executed within each cloud-implemented NDC instantiation on the cloud computing platform. The system further includes instances of a cellular network database function that updates each other instance of the cellular network database function across the NDC instantiations.

Geographically redundant and high availability system architecture for a hybrid cloud cellular network

Embodiments are directed towards systems and methods for enabling a telecommunication service provider to control an underlay network in cloud service provider environment. One such method includes: dictating control of the underlay network to a telecommunication service provider in the cloud service provider environment; enabling control of a number of virtual routers to be deployed by the telecommunication service provider in the cloud service provider environment; and managing route tables for the virtual routers deployed by the telecommunication service provider in the cloud service provider environment. In some embodiments, the Virtual Private Cloud design is configured to be similar to a design of the on-prem architecture of the telecommunication service provider.

The plurality of cloud-based environments may be communicatively coupled to one or more issue monitors via a second plurality of pipelines. The plurality of cloud-based environments may be exposed to service provider systems and allowing the service provider systems to develop and/or test features and/or services with respect to the cellular network within the plurality of cloud-based environments.

Multi-environment cellular network development and testing system

Embodiments are directed towards systems and methods for bridging data traffic between an underlay network and an overlay network within a wireless telecommunication network. One such method including: providing access to an overlay network that includes virtual routers, wherein the overlay network is built above the underlay network, the underlay network including physical infrastructure that delivers packets; providing a UPFv that acts as an anchor for telephony voice functions; establishing routing protocols to transmit from the UPFv to one or more of the virtual routers; configuring one or more of the virtual routers to bridge an outgoing communication from the UPFv to a public cloud provider; instructing the virtual router to send the outgoing communication through the public cloud provider to the underlay network; and instructing the virtual router to receive an incoming communication from the underlay network through the public cloud provider to the UPFv.

Network functions (NFs) are executed within each cloud-implemented NDC on the public cloud computing platform. The system further includes a cellular network database function. An instance of the cellular network database function is executed within each cloud-implemented NDC on the public cloud computing platform and updates each other instance of the cellular network database function.
