The described technology is generally directed towards operating a user equipment node as a scheduler user equipment (e.g., which can be a local manager of other nodes in a group). The scheduler user equipment receives a scheduling request for the scheduling of the resources for transmission of data by a transmitter user equipment, and based on the traffic type requested, schedules the transmitter user equipment and receiver user equipment(s) with scheduling data/allocated radio resources. The transmitter user equipment can directly transmit to the receiver user equipment(s) on the allocated radio resources, e.g., without further involvement of the scheduler user equipment/local manager. For cellular data, the scheduler user equipment can schedule the transmitter user equipment to transmit to the scheduler user equipment as a receiver node.

Wireless communication framework for multiple user equipment

Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for a power control system in a multi-hop integrated access and backhaul network. In the multi-hop integrated access and backhaul network, a donor node can communicate with user equipment devices and relay nodes that have varying power levels; and to avoid receiving uplink transmissions with varying power levels which can impact automatic gain control systems and lower overall throughput, the power control system can manage the power levels of the relay node in order to reduce the difference in power levels. The power control system can schedule relay node devices to transmit uplink transmissions alongside user equipment devices that have a high signal strength; schedule relay nodes and user equipment devices to separate symbols within a time slot; and/or perform closed loop power control management at the relay node to reduce the power level for an uplink transmission.

Power control enhancements for multi-hop integrated access and backhaul

In a 5G network, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) deployment in a 5G network, can enable aggregation of multiple user equipment (UE) bearers into backhaul bearers based on factors such as route information of UE bearers and quality of service of UE bearers. Additionally, reconfiguration of backhaul bearers, based on triggers, such as route changes for UE bearers can increase network efficiency for a 5G or other next generation network.

Configuration and reconfiguration of aggregated backhaul bearers in a multi-hop integrated access backhaul network for 5G or other next generation network

In a 5G network, an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) deployment in a 5G network, can enable aggregation of multiple user equipment (UE) bearers into backhaul bearers based on factors such as route information of UE bearers and quality of service of UE bearers. Additionally, an adaptation layer can be configured to perform aggregation of data from UE bearers into backhaul bearers either above or below a radio link control layer. Thus, aggregation of data from UE bearers into backhaul bearers can be performed either above the RLC or below the RLC to take advantage of benefits from both options.

Integrated access backhaul network architecture to support bearer aggregation for 5G or other next generation network

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a base station that includes a phased array antenna system and a MIMO antenna system. The MIMO antenna system may receive sounding signals sent by user equipment (UE) and determine angular location information for each UE. The angular location information may be used by the phased array antenna system to create antenna beams. The angular location information may also be used to schedule communications with multiple UEs in common beams. Other embodiments are disclosed.

The described technology is generally directed towards a multi-connectivity (three or more simultaneous communication links) framework in a wireless communication network, including aspects and components that support the operation of New Radio vehicle-to-everything (V2X) services. Aspects of the framework include initial access and V2X establishment, local manager selection, sidelink and cellular resource configuration, mobility and measurements (and reporting), group communication and vehicular platooning support, and V2X configuration and local manager association.

Multi-connectivity based vehicle-to-everything communications in a wireless network

Disaggregated wireless radio access networks can utilize a lower physical split architecture with open fronthaul between the radio unit and distributed baseband units. A split architecture is one in which the analogue radio front-end and the digital baseband processor in a radio are not co-located. Instead, these components are connected via a fronthaul transport network. Therefore, the baseband unit can transmit two beamforming matrices for every contiguous resource block occupied by a user. The radio unit can then interpolate between these two beamforming matrices for each of the RE inside of the resource block based on the baseband unit and the radio unit agreeing upon a method of interpolation to generate beamforming matrices per resource element.

Facilitation of beamforming utilizing interpolation for 5G or other next generation network

The disclosed subject matter is directed towards scheduling and Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (HARQ) operations by which nodes in a three party communication system can communicate. To schedule a data transmission from a transmitter node to receiver node(s), a local manager/scheduler node sends common downlink control information to the transmitter and receiver nodes. Via a scheduling request, the transmitting node can request the scheduling of the data transmission by the local manager node. The technology facilitates unicast and broadcast/multicast data transmissions; for a unicast data transmission, the scheduling request identifies the receiving node. The transmitting node can explicitly acknowledge reception of the downlink control information to the local manager node, or the local manager node can detect the data transmission, when it occurs, as an implicit acknowledgment that the common downlink control information was successfully received.

Hybrid automatic repeat request and scheduling for wireless cellular systems with local traffic managers

Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for the provisioning of backhaul links over a 5G N R (New Radio) integrated access and backhaul (IAB) network for access nodes using non-5G radio access technologies. In this way, the IAB network can service devices that are connected to the core network via older 3GPP technologies, or even non-3GPP technologies such as Wi-Fi. An IAB mobile terminal can be provided at the end point access node to make the access node an IAB node. Using an existing internet protocol (IP) routing in the IAB network, or providing for an IP tunnel between the endpoint access node and the core network can then facilitate providing backhaul services for the non-5G access node.

Backhauling of traffic from 3GPP and non-3GPP based radio access technologies via new radio integrated access backhaul for 5G or other next generation network

The described technology is generally directed towards an autonomous topology management scheme in a wireless communications network that establishes a hierarchical structure from a peer-to-peer network without assistance from the wireless network. A group of user equipments negotiate with each other to elect a local manager that acts as a base station by which other user equipments of the group can access network resources. Described is an example voting scheme by which the negotiation process elects the local manager for a term.

Autonomous topology management for wireless radio user equipment

Methods, computer-readable media, and apparatuses for presenting a visualization of at least one wireless channel parameter as an overlay on top of an image of an environment are described. For example, a processing system including at least one processor may obtain at least a first wireless channel parameter of at least a first location, generate a first visualization of the at least the first wireless channel parameter, where the first visualization indicates at least one of: a magnitude of the at least the first wireless channel parameter or a direction of the at least the first wireless channel parameter, and present the first visualization of the at least the first wireless channel parameter as an overlay on top of a first image of an environment associated with the first location via a display device.

Augmented reality channel sounding system

Various embodiments disclosed herein provide for an enhanced timing advance scheme to support MU-MIMO in an integrated access and backhaul system. The timing advance scheme disclosed herein aligns the arrival time between backhaul links and access links to enable MU-MIMO gain at the receiver side. In the integrated access and backhaul system, which comprises distributed nodes, the timing advance offset for an access link transmission (a transmission to a node further away in hops from the core network, or to a user equipment device) can be modified by offsetting it with the timing advance of the backhaul link (e.g., from a parent node). This enables the arrival time for transmissions, both access link transmissions from the UE or child node, and backhaul link transmissions from a parent node to arrive at the same time.
