Embodiments described herein enable data associated with a large plurality of users to be analyzed without compromising the privacy of the user data. In one embodiment, a user can opt-in to allow analysis of clear text of the user's emails. An analysis process can then be performed in which an analysis service receives clear text of an email of a client device; processes the clear text of the email into one or more tokens having one or more tags; enriches one or more tokens in the processed email using data associated with a user of the client device and the one or more tags; and processes the clear text and one or more enriched tokens to generate a data set of one or more feature vectors.

Differential privacy with cloud data

A project-comparator subsystem generates a similarity metric for input electronically-represented projects input to the project-comparator subsystem. A project search engine receives data that represents a first electronically-represented project, identifies, by pairwise comparison of the stored electronically-represented projects with the first electronically-represented project using the project-comparator subsystem, a stored electronically-represented project with greatest similarity to the first electronically-represented project, and outputs an indication of the identified stored electronically-represented project.

Performing what-if analysis

One embodiment of the present invention is directed to a project search system, implemented on one or more computer systems, comprising two or more stored projects represented by electronically stored, computer-accessible data that are stored in a project-database component; a project-comparator subsystem, executed on the one or more computer systems, that generates a similarity metric for two electronically-represented projects input to the project-comparator subsystem; and a project search engine, executed on the one or more computer systems, that receives data that represents an input project, identifies, by pairwise comparison of the stored projects with the input project using the project-comparator subsystem, one or more stored projects with greatest similarity to the input project, and outputs, to a graphical interface displayed on a computer display or to an application program, indications of the one or more stored projects with greatest similarity to the input project.

When in a second state the device enables the user to useably access data stored in the device. The device is arranged to implement a prohibition or restriction on re-entry to its first state after having left it. In preferred embodiments, the device limits the number of times or the frequency at which, it re-enters its first state, whereby to limit the amount or rate of transfer of data via the memory device from the data source to a data recipient. The device can be used to limit content download from data sources at an exhibition. A system and method using the device are also provided.
