A power distribution module is described, which controls the distribution of battery input power to a plurality of device outlet ports using sensors and relay switches. The power distribution module monitors the voltage, current, and/or power from, and/or temperature of, the module and its conductors. The power distribution module has smartphone management of its power outlet ports. So, the power distribution module as described, includes a housing including one or more power inlets, and a plurality of power outlets; a controller processor configured to receive data from sensors in relation to battery capacity and state of charge, and to receive data on power provided to the power outlets; one or more relays, configured to switch power on or off to one or more of the plurality of power outlets; wherein the controller is configured to switch the one or more relays on or off in response to calculations based on selected threshold conditions. Methods of distributing power with a module based on calculations of power and current and temperature relative to selected thresholds are also described.

Power distribution module

A replaceable needle assembly is provided for a retractable, prefilled syringe comprising a barrel having a mounting member and a plunger, whereby the retractable needle can be replaced by a user without affecting the retraction mechanism. The replaceable needle assembly comprises a needle fitted to a retractable needle mount and a needle retainer. The needle mount is removably, screw-threadedly mountable to the mounting member of the barrel. The needle retainer comprises a plurality of fingers that releasably engage the retractable needle to thereby prevent inadvertent retraction of the retractable needle before engagement by the plunger. The plunger comprises a plunger seal comprising an outer member and an inner member that engages the needle for spring-driven retraction. At the end of retraction, a lock is formed between the plunger and barrel to prevent re-use of the syringe.

Vaccination syringe

A portable battery box is described. The portable battery box is suitable for charging and housing a battery and comprises: a housing having a lid, a battery removably disposed within the housing, an inverter, a computer processing system, and a display screen. The computer processing system is configured to be powered by the battery and used for receiving measured charge parameters of the battery and estimating other battery parameters.

Charging apparatus and portable power supply

A replaceable needle assembly is provided for a retractable syringe comprising a barrel and a plunger, whereby the retractable needle can be replaced by a user without affecting the retraction mechanism. A mounting member is removably mountable to the barrel by way of a screw-thread connection and a needle mount is removably coupled to the mounting member. A needle is mounted to the needle mount. The barrel comprises a needle mount retainer that comprises a plurality of fingers that engage the retractable needle mount to prevent inadvertent retraction. The plunger comprises a collapsible seal which maximizes the efficiency of fluid delivery prior to the plunger engaging the retractable needle mount for retraction. An initially compressed spring decompresses to drive retraction of the plunger and the engaged needle mount. A lock formed between the plunger and barrel prevents further use of the plunger after retraction.

Clinical syringe with replaceable retractable needle

A portable battery box is described. The portable battery box is suitable for charging and housing a battery and comprises: a charging apparatus for charging a battery; a hollow lid shell and a hollow base shell for housing a rechargeable battery, the base hollow shell including a base wall, a top wall and at least one side wall extending between the base and top walls; and at least one handle disposed in a respective one of the side walls of the hollow base shell. Also described is a method for monitoring the charging of a battery in use disposed within a battery box, the method including the steps of: measuring first charging and/or discharging parameters at selected time intervals; estimating selected other charging parameters at selected time intervals; and displaying the first and other charging or discharging parameters on a display screen associated with the battery box, the charging or discharging parameters being selected from the group consisting of: battery voltage; charging cycle; time to charge completion; time to discharge completion; condition of the battery; battery charging current; battery discharging current.
