A device for RF sensing includes communication circuitry configured to communicate over an unlicensed frequency band and a licensed frequency band, the communication circuitry configured to transmit a unique signal over the unlicensed frequency band using at least one antenna of the one or more antennas and receive a corresponding return signal from at least one antenna of the one or more antennas, the at least one receiver configured to process the corresponding return signal to determine at least an amplitude and phase (td) of the corresponding return signal, and a look up table (LUT) having characterization information relating to the amplitude and phase (td) of the corresponding return signal, wherein the device is configured to use the characterization information to determine a use state or a gesture of the device and alter at least one operating parameter of the device based on the determined use state or gesture.

System and method for radio frequency (RF) sensing to determine device parameters

A system for signal processing includes a radio frequency integrated circuit (RFIC) having a plurality of available transmission paths, the RFIC configured to have at least a first communication signal on a first transmission path of the available transmission paths, a plurality of power amplifier/low noise amplifier (PA/LNA) modules selectively connected to the RFIC, each of the PA/LNA modules configured to connect to at least one respective antenna, and switch logic configured to connect the at least first communication signal to any of the plurality of PA/LNA modules prior to power amplification, while preventing the first communication signal from affecting or being affected by another communication signal on another of the plurality of available transmission paths.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for wireless communication. In certain aspects, the method generally includes determine a transmission power for each of at least one first sounding reference signal (SRS) to be transmitted using at least one first antenna, wherein the determination is based on whether the at least one first SRS is transmitted using an amplifier of a transmit chain configured for transmissions using a second antenna, and transmitting the at least one first SRS based on the determination.

A method includes: controllably configuring at least one antenna diversity switch in a wireless device to establish conductive paths between at least one transceiver of the wireless device and multiple antennas each disposed at a respective one of a multiple areas of a housing of the wireless device; and routing signals between the at least one transceiver and the multiple antennas, via the at least one antenna diversity switch, such that a signal is routed to either of at least two of the multiple antennas disposed at a first end area of the multiple areas of the housing of the wireless device or to either of at least two other antennas disposed at a second end area of the multiple areas of the housing of the wireless device.

Disclosed aspects relate to methods and apparatus for controlling a wireless device having at least one radio frequency (RF) system. The methods and apparatus are configured to select an antenna for transmission of signals from radio components of the at least one RF system from between a first default antenna normally coupled to the radio components of the at least one RF system for transmission of signals and one of a plurality of other antennas in the wireless device. Further, switching is configured to couple the radio components to one of the other plurality of antennas selected as the antenna for transmission cycles when the radio components are transmitting in an antenna switch diversity (ASDIV) period. Additionally, the methods and apparatus are configured to operate a switch to couple the radio components back to at least the first default antenna during receiving cycles during the ASDIV period.

Transmit antenna diversity in radio front end architectures

A multi-band antenna having an aperture tuner is disclosed. The multi-band antenna may simultaneously transmit a first radio frequency (RF) signal and a second RF signal. The aperture tuner may modify a resonant frequency associated with one or more antenna elements of the multiband antenna in accordance with the first RF signal or the second RF signal. One or more of the antenna elements of the multi-band antenna may be disposed above and/or substantially parallel to other antenna elements. In some exemplary embodiments, an air gap may be formed between one or more antenna elements.
