An example welding-type power supply includes: power conversion circuitry configured to convert input power to welding-type power having at least one of an alternating current (AC) waveform or a pulse waveform; an interface configured to receive an input representative of a selected frequency of the AC waveform or the pulse waveform; and control circuitry configured to: determine an amperage parameter of the welding-type power; based on the amperage parameter, determine a range of frequencies of the AC waveform or the pulse waveform; control the interface to output an indication of the selected frequency with respect to the determined range of frequencies; and control the power conversion circuitry to output the welding-type power at the selected frequency and based on the amperage parameter.

Systems and methods to control welding-type power supplies using AC waveforms and/or DC pulse waveforms

An example welding-type system includes: power conversion circuitry configured to convert input power to welding-type power; an interface configured to: receive a selection of a parameter from a plurality of parameters; and receive a selection of a value for the selected parameter; and control circuitry configured to: in response to the selection of the parameter from the plurality of parameters, control the interface to output a visual indication of an effect of changing the parameter on at least one of a welding electrode, a quantity of discontinuities in the weld, a magnitude of a discontinuity in the weld, or a quantity of inclusions in the weld; in response to a change in the value of the selected parameter via the interface, control the interface to change the visual indication of the effect based on the change in the value; and control the power conversion circuitry based on the value.

Systems and methods to provide visual assistance for selection of welding parameters

Welding power supplies and user interfaces to control output polarity for welding power supplies are disclosed. An example welding power supply includes: a first terminal and a second terminal configured to be connected to welding equipment; power conversion circuitry configured to convert input power to weld power and to output the weld power via the first and second terminals; an interface, including: one or more first input devices configured to receive a selection of a wire feeding weld process; and one or more second input devices configured to receive a selection of a polarity of the weld power; and control circuitry configured to, in response to receiving, via the interface, an input associated with at least one of the wire feeding weld process or the selection of the output polarity, control the polarity of the weld power output via the power conversion circuitry to the first and second terminals.

Welding power supplies and user interfaces to control output polarity for welding power supplies

Provided is a configurable handle for a work equipment. The work equipment, which may be a welding power source, can comprise a body, and a power conversion circuitry within the body. The power conversion circuitry is configured to convert input power to welding-type power. The work equipment comprises one or more handles attached to the body for physical manipulation of the work equipment, where at least one of the handles is configured to be oriented to any of a plurality of different positions.

Method and apparatus for reconfigurable handles for a work equipment

Provided is a welding-type power source, comprising power conversion circuitry configured to convert input power to welding-type power, a user interface comprising a first input device, a second input device, and an output device, and control circuitry. The control circuitry is configured to, in response to a first input via the first input device, control the output device to output an indication that the welding-type power source is in a preconfigured state, set predetermined ones of welding-type parameters to respective predetermined values, set a welding current, when there is an input from the second input device, to a value indicated by the second input device, and set the welding current, when there is not an input from the second input device, to one of: the default value when the default welding current has not been changed, or a welding current that has been changed previously via the second input device.
