A method for cleaning and rejuvenating an at least partially spent de-NO catalyst comprising a porous ceramic metal oxide material containing a vanadium oxide and coated on a metal support by cleaning the catalyst with an oxalic acid solution and by contacting the catalyst with a vanadium compound solution.

A method for reducing the benzene content and isomerizing at least a portion of a C.sub.5 /C.sub.6 paraffinic stream using a hydrogen stream containing more than 0.1 ppmv of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide or a mixture thereof, the method comprising: charging a C.sub.5 /C.sub.6 paraffin stream containing benzene to a benzene saturation zone; charging a hydrogen stream containing at least 0.1 ppmv of at least one carbon oxide to the benzene saturation zone; saturating at least a major portion of the benzene and methanating at least a major portion of the carbon oxide present in the benzene saturation zone to produce a reduced benzene content C.sub.5 and C.sub.6 paraffinic stream and a reduced carbon oxide content hydrogen stream; recovering the reduced benzene content C.sub.5 and C.sub.6 paraffinic stream and the reduced carbon oxide content hydrogen stream; drying at least a portion of the reduced carbon oxide content hydrogen stream to produce a dried reduced carbon oxide content hydrogen stream; charging at least a portion of the dried reduced carbon oxide content hydrogen stream to a C.sub.5 /C.sub.6 isomerization zone; charging at least a portion of the reduced benzene content C.sub.5 /C.sub.6 paraffinic stream to the C.sub.5 /C.sub.6 isomerization zone; and, isomerizing at least a portion of the reduced benzene content C.sub.5 /C.sub.6 paraffinic stream in the C.sub.5 /C.sub.6 isomerization zone to produce an isomerized C.sub.5 /C.sub.6 paraffin stream.

Method for eliminating carbon oxides in feeds to a C5 and C6 paraffin

A method of treating spent selective catalytic reduction (SCR) catalyst is provided, which method comprises contacting the spent catalyst with a solution comprising a SCR catalyst metal salt, preferably a vanadium salt, and heating the catalyst contacted with the metal salt solution at a calcination temperature in the presence of oxygen. Preferably, after treatment with the metal salt solution, the catalyst is dried with air for at least about 10 seconds and heated to a temperature in the range of about 130.degree. F. to about 170.degree. F. for a period of about 30 minutes to about 90 minutes before heating to the calcination temperature. In addition, a method is provided for restoring the catalytic activity of a SCR catalyst, contaminated with platinum, to enhance catalytic reduction of oxides of nitrogen to nitrogen by the SCR catalyst, said method comprising (a) contacting the spent catalyst with a metal salt containing solution; (b) then heating the catalyst in the presence of oxygen to a calcination temperature at which the metal salt is decomposed to form an oxide of the metal and the metal oxide is bonded to the catalyst support, to form a calcined catalyst; and, (c.) contacting the calcined catalyst with a SCR flue gas stream at a temperature in the range of about 450.degree. F. to about 750.degree. F. Calcination temperatures as low as 250.degree. F. are effective to restore SCR catalyst activity.

Method for treating contaminated catalyst

An improved process minimizing the detrimental effects caused by inadvertently contacting a high sulfur, high water-containing hydrocarbon feedstock with a platinum group metal, halogen-containing catalyst is disclosed. The present process involves discontinuing the high sulfur, high water-containing feedstock-catalyst contacting while passing hydrogen over the catalyst. The catalyst halogen concentration is maintained or increased by the addition of halogen component, for example, during the hydrogen pass through. Once the sulfur contamination has been removed from the catalyst, normal hydrocarbon reforming is resumed.

A process for reducing the sulfur content of hydrocarbon material by oxidizing the sulfur impurities contained in the hydrocarbon material, contacting the oxidized sulfur-containing hydrocarbon material with at least one of certain metal containing components at conditions to form a metal, sulfur-containing compound and recovering a hydrocarbon material of reduced sulfur content.
