An inner drum for use in a dryer/mixer in connection with the production of an aggregate-binder mix includes a plurality of mixing paddles disposed on the outer surface of the inner drum and arranged in a plurality of rows. The mixing paddles are configured to rotate through a mixing chamber as the inner drum rotates within an outer drum of the dryer/mixer to mix aggregate and binder together. Interstitial spaces are formed between rows of mixing paddles and material leads, where aggregate material preferentially travels as the inner drum is rotated, extend along the mixing chamber. At least one interstitial mixing paddle is located on the outer surface of the inner drum and in one of the interstitial spaces at one of the material leads. The interstitial mixing paddle rotates through the mixing chamber as the inner drum rotates to also mix the aggregate and binder together.

Reversed interstitial paddles

A dryer adapted for use in an asphalt plant. The dryer includes a drum having an inner wall and a flight having a proximal end connecting the flight to the inner wall of the drum and a distal end that is spaced apart from the proximal end. A first profile extends from the proximal end to the distal end of the flight and defines a flight shape. A notch is formed in the distal end of the flight, which notch includes a notch shape that is defined by a second profile. The second profile has a length L, a center point, and a portion that substantially approximates a conic section.

A mixing tube assembly having an inlet end and an outlet end and being adapted for use in a burner assembly. The mixing tube assembly comprises a substantially cylindrical outer wall which defines an interior open space. The mixing tube assembly also comprises a turbulator that is disposed in the interior open space defined by the substantially cylindrical outer wall and a flow straightening device that is disposed downstream from the turbulator. A method for mixing fuel and air in a burner assembly comprising providing a mixing tube assembly. The preferred method also comprises conveying fuel and air from the inlet end of the mixing tube assembly to the outlet end of the mixing tube assembly and straightening the gaseous fuel and air mixture flow in the mixing tube assembly.

Apparatus and method for linear mixing tube assembly

A mixing tube assembly having an inlet end and an outlet end and being adapted for use in a burner assembly. The mixing tube assembly comprises a substantially cylindrical outer wall which defines an interior open space. The mixing tube assembly also comprises a turbulator that is disposed in the interior open space defined by the substantially cylindrical outer wall. A method for mixing fuel and air in a burner assembly comprising providing a mixing tube assembly. The preferred method also comprises conveying fuel and air from the inlet end of the mixing tube assembly to the outlet end of the mixing tube assembly.

Apparatus and method for mixing tube assembly

A burner assembly including a housing having an air inlet, a burner end having an opening, a longitudinal axis extending generally from the air inlet toward the burner end, a motor, an impeller mounted in the housing and being in fluid communication with the air inlet, operatively connected to the motor and adapted to direct air from the air inlet toward the burner end, a coal tube adapted to convey coal toward the burner end, a coal inlet adapted to convey coal to the coal tube, a first bluff body ring, a second bluff body ring and a third bluff body ring mounted at the burner end, a flame bridge disposed between the first bluff body ring and the second bluff body ring, and an igniter mounted in the burner end and being adapted to ignite the air and fuel mixture in the burner end to produce a main flame.

Coal burner assembly

A dust collection assembly includes a primary collection assembly and a secondary collection assembly and may be connected to a source of gas having dust entrained therein. The primary collection assembly includes a primary duct having an inlet end and an outlet end. A first apparatus is mounted within the primary duct imparts a swirling motion to the gas which enters through the inlet end of the duct. A second apparatus is located downstream of the first apparatus for removing a portion of the dust entrained in the gas. The secondary collection assembly is in fluid communication with the outlet end of the primary collection assembly, and it includes a plurality of filter bags. The dust collection assembly also includes a fan that is in fluid communication with the secondary collection assembly.
