Light fixture

Disclosed is a grid lighting system having at least one housing segment with at least one lighting zone. At least one lighting module is selected from at least one track lighting module and/or at least one non-track lighting module. The at least one lighting zone extends along a first length dimension of the housing segment and including at least one first passage to receive the at least one track lighting module and/or non-track lighting module. The housing segment includes a first power supply segment to be coupled with a designated line voltage outlet to deliver line voltage power to the at least one lighting module in the at least one lighting zone. Each track lighting module includes a lighting subzone, with a second passage to receive one or more lighting submodules along a second length dimension. A second power supply segment is provided to couple with the first power supply segment to receive line power and to deliver low voltage to the one or more lighting submodules.

Disclosed is a junction device for joining adjacent housing sections of a light fixture housing assembly, having a junction body structure formed from at least one junction body segment. A plurality of coupling units, each with at least one first boundary including at least one male portion or at least one female portion. The male and/or female portions are configured to enable each corresponding portion a first of the coupling units to receive the male portion of a second of the coupling units. Each of at least two of the coupling units including a first segment formed with the at least one junction body segment at respective first boundaries with the corresponding male or female portions extending therefrom. Each of the male and female portions is configured to be associated with a first locking structure to lock the female and male portions together to form the assembled light fixture housing.

Couplers for light fixtures

An LED luminaire having a housing positionable at a structure location for providing illumination. At least one first LED light engine is located within the housing. The housing has at least one light output boundary and is configured to direct light therein toward the light output boundary. A light guide is configured to be located at the light output boundary to receive light contained within the housing to emit non-directional light at the light output boundary. The at least one first LED light engine includes at least one first LED light source providing directional light at the light output boundary. The first LED light engine includes a shroud adjacent the light guide providing directional light from the LED light source to a target location beyond the luminaire. The shroud structure provides an optical path from the LED light source through the light guide for providing non-directional light.

Luminaire for emitting directional and non-directional light

A linear light fixture assembly for supporting a light fixture in a ceiling structure, comprises a light fixture mounting structure having a pair of opposed boundary regions configured to fit within a designated light fixture receiving region in the ceiling structure, and a plurality of spring elements configured to spaced outwardly from at least one of the boundary regions, each spring element having a mounting region configured to be anchored to the mounting structure and a free end region to extend therefrom and to be laterally outwardly biased in a first position to form a path of contact with a support surface region on the ceiling structure to anchor the structure in the receiving region, each of the spring elements configured to be movable toward the corresponding boundary region in a second position to release the path of contact to release the light fixture from the receiving region.

Removable positioning of light fixtures

A kit for joining together at least a pair of light fixture segments at a joint interface therebetween to form a light fixture assembly, comprises at least a pair of complementary coupling units, each coupling unit configured to be located in an operative position in one of said light fixture segments to join the other coupling unit at the joint interface defined by complementary abutment surfaces on said light fixture segments, at least one of the complementary coupling units being configured to be adjustably located in the operative position to displace another of the coupling units along a designated travel path toward a limit position, wherein the joining of the light fixture segments at the joint interface occurs in advance of the other coupling unit reaching the limit position.

A luminaire structure, comprises a plurality of housing segments, each with at least one lighting zone, and configured to be assembled to form a support structure defining at least one panel supporting zone for supporting at least one acoustic panel removably attached thereto, wherein each of the lighting zones in the support structure is oriented to be adjacent the at least one acoustic panel, and operable to receive a lighting module to deliver light to an interior space.

Acoustic luminaire structure

A linear lighting assembly is disclosed which produces tailored light distributions valuable in many illumination applications. The linear lighting assembly comprises a unique light scattering optical element within a single edge lit linear lighting module housing configured to fit within a linear light fixture housing, both housings capable of being fabricated in a continuous extrusion process and cut to length as need for specific linear lighting assembly lengths. Light distributions attainable using the invention include, but are not limited to, symmetric and asymmetric bi-lobed 'batwing' distributions for wide area direct and indirect lighting, and tilted or asymmetric distributions for perimeter lighting. It is also possible to achieve more rounded and symmetric distributions by an additional diffuser as a cover lens. The invention is particularly well-suited for linear lighting fixtures that are surface mounted, suspended or recessed. Various embodiments also provide means for adjusting light distributions dynamically to control light output characteristics by controlling the input signals to the LED board included in the assembly.

Linear lighting assembly with single edge-lit light scattering optical element

A lighting assembly with a single edge lit optical configuration produces various asymmetric light distributions which provide targeted control of light output with peak intensity that is non-normal to the light guide output face. The compact form factor of the lighting assembly embodiments having narrow width are particularly well-suited for use in linear lighting applications requiring suspended, surface and recessed installations typically used to illuminate walls, floors and/or ceilings. The lighting assembly can also be selectively configured and oriented during assembly and installation to achieve various lighting distributions. Optical components within the lighting assembly are typically positioned and retained in optical alignment with internal support features of a linear housing. The optical configuration typically includes LED board, light guide, and one or more reflectors, and an optically transmitting component providing further control of the lighting distributions and a broader range of design choices. A variety of asymmetrical and symmetrical light distributions can be achieved with one or more peak intensities. Further embodiments utilize selective alignment of the light guide with one or more reflectors to achieve different light distributions.

Single edge lit lighting assembly with asymmetric light distribution

A light fixture with a single edge lit optical assembly produces various light distributions which provide targeted control of light output with peak intensity that is non-normal to the light guide output face. Optical components within the light fixture are typically positioned and retained in optical alignment with internal support features of a linear housing. The optical assembly typically includes LED board, light guide, and one or more reflective surfaces. Additionally an optically transmitting component further provides a fixture assembler a range of design choices. A variety of light distributions can be achieved including asymmetrical and symmetrical with one or more peak intensities. Further embodiments utilize selective alignment of light guide with one or more reflectors to achieve different light distributions.

A ceiling connector assembly for mounting an article includes a ceiling connector configured to present an article-mounting end region below a downward facing ceiling surface, a canopy structure for locating on the mounting end region and configured to cover, at least in part, the mounting end region in a covering position, the canopy structure and the mounting end region each respectively including at least one first mounting structure and at least one second mounting structure, wherein when the first and second mounting structures are configured to enable the canopy structure to be removably mounted on the mounting end region in the covering position.

Luminaire structures

A single edge lit lighting module is disclosed which produces tailored light distributions valuable in many illumination applications. The lighting module comprises a unique light scattering optical element which is aligned with one or more LED light sources along one of its edges and works in combination with configured reflective surfaces. Light distributions attainable using the invention include, but are not limited to, symmetric and asymmetric bi-lobed 'batwing' distributions for wide area direct and indirect lighting, and tilted or asymmetric distributions for perimeter lighting. It is also possible to achieve more rounded and symmetric distributions by an additional diffuser as a cover lens. The invention's unique single edge lit construction provides the means for achieving the lighting distributions without the need for conventional two lit edges and within a compact form factor with narrow width. The invention is particularly well-suited for linear lighting fixtures that are surface mounted, suspended or recessed. Various embodiments also provide means for adjusting light distributions dynamically to control light output characteristics by controlling the input signals to the LED board included in the assembly.
