A downhole completion system and methodology is provided for use in a well. The downhole completion comprises a packer and a plurality of flow control sand screens. Each flow control sand screen has an inflow control device (ICD). The downhole completion further comprises at least one lower sand screen positioned below the plurality of flow control sand screens. The at least one lower sand screen is configured without an ICD. A flow restrictor is disposed between the plurality of flow control sand screens and the at least one lower sand screen.

A downhole tool includes a base pipe having an opening formed radially-therethrough. The downhole tool also includes a valve positioned at least partially within the opening. The valve includes a dissolvable insert and an impediment. The dissolvable insert prevents the impediment from contacting a seat of the valve such that the valve permits fluid flow in both axial directions through the valve. After the dissolvable insert dissolves, the impediment contacts the seat such that the valve permits fluid flow in one axial direction through the valve but prevents fluid flow in the opposing axial direction through the valve.

A downhole tool includes a sand control device, a tubular member coupled to and positioned below the sand control device, a shifting device coupled to the tubular member, and a load-monitoring sensor coupled to the tubular member and positioned between the sand control device and the shifting device.

A downhole tool includes a deactivation member, a latching member, a release member, and a biasing member. The deactivation member includes an outer protrusion. The latching member is positioned radially-outward from the deactivation member. The latching member includes an inner protrusion and an outer protrusion. The release member includes a sleeve extending axially toward the outer protrusion of the latching member. The biasing member exerts an axial force on the latching member.

Downhole shifting tool

A downhole tool includes a shifting device and a load-monitoring sensor positioned above the shifting device. A distance between the shifting device and the load-monitoring sensor is less than or equal to about 10 m.

A technique facilitates formation of a gravel pack in a wellbore. Gravel slurry is delivered downhole to a desired gravel packing zone located along an annulus surrounding a gravel packing completion. Dehydration of the gravel pack is facilitated by providing a return flow path for a carrier fluid along drainage layers of adjacent screen assemblies. The drainage layers of adjacent screen assemblies are coupled by drainage layer shunt tubes which bypass corresponding couplings between the adjacent screen assemblies. In some applications, the drainage layer shunt tubes facilitate delivery of the returning carrier fluid to a sliding sleeve assembly.
