An energy efficient heat pump includes a working fluid circuit configured to circulate a working fluid, where the working fluid circuit includes a compressor, a first heat exchanger, a second heat exchanger, a first expansion device, an economizer, and a reversing valve, where the reversing valve is configured to adjust a flow direction of the working fluid through the working fluid circuit. The heat pump further includes an injection conduit extending from a first conduit of the working fluid circuit to an injection port of the compressor, where the injection conduit includes a second expansion device, and the injection conduit is configured to direct a portion of the working fluid from the working fluid circuit, through the second expansion device, through the economizer, and to the injection port of the compressor to inject of the portion of the working fluid into the compressor.

The present disclosure presents techniques for improving operational efficiency of climate control systems. A climate control system may include climate control equipment, a sensor that measures temperature in a building, and a control system that controls operation of the equipment using a first temperature schedule, which associates each time step with a temperature setpoint, when the building is occupied. When not occupied, the control system determines an expected return time based on historical occupancy data associated with the building, determines the temperature setpoint associated with the expected return time, determines candidate schedules each expected to result in the inside air temperature meeting the temperature setpoint, determines efficiency metrics each associated with one of the candidates based on historical performance data resulting from previous operation of the climate control system, and controls operation of the equipment based on a second temperature schedule selected from the candidates based on associated efficiency metrics.

A variable capacity furnace includes a variable capacity fuel valve configured to supply a fuel to a burner, where the variable capacity fuel valve is configured to be controlled to a target setting over a range of settings to modulate an amount or flow rate of the fuel supplied to the burner. The memory circuitry includes instructions stored thereon that, when executed by the processing circuitry, cause the processing circuitry to execute a control algorithm to determine, based on whether an indoor temperature is progressing toward a set point over time and based on a temperature differential between the set point and the indoor temperature, a target setting of the variable capacity fuel valve. The HVAC system may initiate the inducer motor, and receive a pulse width modulation (PWM) signal from the inducer motor, wherein the PWM signal indicates a PWM signal of the inducer motor corresponding to a predetermined airflow pressure of the inducer motor and measured by the pressure sensor. The HVAC system may compare the PWM signal to a baseline value, and control the inducer motor based on the comparing of the PWM signal to the baseline value. The HVAC system may also generate a status notification of the combustion airflow of the HVAC system in response to the comparing the PWM signal to the baseline value.

The measuring device transmits the shape of the room and the dimension set to a mobile device that determines a layout of the building based on the shapes and the dimension sets corresponding to the rooms of the building.
