The present invention relates to a method of forming a surface covering for example wallpaper or a floor covering and an apparatus for forming a surface covering, in which a surface covering raw material is supplied, the surface covering raw material comprising a substrate and a resin layer comprising a resin and a carrier liquid, the resin being dispersed in the carrier liquid and being capable of gelling or curing with the carrier liquid. A pattern is then applied to the resin layer by inkjet printing, and the surface covering raw material with the pattern formed on the resin layer is heated to gel or cure the resin layer to thereby prepare a surface covering.

Method of forming a surface covering with substrate, phase transition liquid and plasticizer

A printed substrate, wherein a printed polymer layer is present on a surface of the substrate, is disclosed. The printed polymer layer includes a polymer selected from group consisting of one or more of polyvinyl chloride, a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate, and a terpolymer of vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate and ethylene; a plasticizer; a colorant; and calcium carbonate.

Provided is a method for applying an ink for applying an oil-based ink to a resin composition layer of a target including a base and the resin composition layer formed over a surface of the base, the method including: a pretreatment step of pre-treating the target before the oil-based ink is applied, with at least one surface treatment for improving a wetting/spreading property of the oil-based ink; a step of applying the oil-based ink to the target that has undergone the pretreatment step; and a post-treatment step of post-treating the target after the oil-based ink is applied, with at least one surface treatment for improving a wetting/spreading property of the oil-based ink.
