A drive member for driving a piston rod in a drug delivery device is provided. The drive member is configured to be driven in a rotational movement by an actuating member. The drive member comprises a track for transmitting a driving load from the actuating member to the drive member. The track comprises both sections running in a distal and sections running in a proximal direction of the drive member. Moreover, a drug delivery device comprising such a drive member is provided.

The present invention relates to an assembly for a drug delivery device comprising a proximal end, a distal end and a moveable member, a dose member, a fixed member and coupling means, wherein in a first state, the moveable member is moveable in an axial direction with respect to the fixed member and the dose member and the coupling means retains the dose member to the fixed member, and wherein in a second state of the assembly, the moveable member is permanently connected with the dose member by means of the coupling means and the dose member is released from the fixed member and the assembly is configured to set and dispense a dose of a fluid medicinal product out of an assembled cartridge by movement of the dose member. Furthermore it relates to a method for setting-up a drug delivery device.

Assembly for use in a drug delivery device

A drug delivery device () for dispensing one or more doses of a drug is provided. The device () comprises a drive member () for driving a piston rod () and a dose member () for actuating the drive member (). The piston rod () is coupled to the drive member () such that a relative translational movement of the drive member () and the piston rod () is allowed and a relative rotational movement is prevented. The drive member () is configured to be driven by the dose member () around the longitudinal axis in a first () and a second rotational direction () opposite to each other. Furthermore, a drug delivery device () is provided, wherein the drive member () has stable and unstable states and wherein in an unstable state the drive member () is biased by biasing means () towards a stable state.

Drug delivery device

An assembly of a drug delivery device with a longitudinal axis (L) is given, comprising a body () with a proximal end () and a distal end (). The drug delivery device further comprises a drive assembly and a first button member (). The drive assembly is at least partially arranged within the body () and is adapted to facilitate dispense of a medicinal product. The first button member () acts on the drive assembly to prepare the drug delivery device for dispensing the medicinal product. The first button member () is adapted to be detachable from the body () after the preparation of the drug delivery device is completed.

An assembly of a drug delivery device comprises a body () having a distal end () and a proximal end (), a drive assembly () arranged substantially within the body () to facilitate dispense of a medicinal product and a button member () arranged at the proximal end () of the body () and adapted to act upon the drive assembly (). The drive assembly () has an initial pre-ready state, a transient state and a ready state; in the pre-ready and transient states the button member () is twistable with respect to the body () to act upon the drive assembly () and wherein in the ready state the button member () is axially moveable but not substantially twistable with respect to the body () to act upon the drive assembly () to dispense a dose of the medicinal product.
