The present disclosure relates to a system () for use of a pharmaceutical product. The system comprises a container () accommodating a pharmaceutical product, the container () comprising a wireless communication unit () and a memory () which stores pairing-specific information for one or more medical devices (), and a medical device () enabled for wireless communication with the wireless communication unit () of the container () and configured to read the pairing-specific information from the memory () of the container () to verify whether the container () is permitted to be used by the medical device ().

A pharmaceutical container includes a cylindrical hollow container body defining a hollow chamber to receive a pharmaceutical liquid, the container body including a portion on a sidewall) of the container body, wherein the portion has a longitudinal extension along the longitudinal axis of the container body and a circumferential extension along the circumference of the container body, thereby forming a window through the sidewall of the container body into the hollow chamber. In embodiments of the invention, the window comprises two long edges and two short edges, and a Near Field Communication (NFC) antenna. The invention provides a syringe for use in an ophthalmic injection. The syringe comprises a body, a stopper and a plunger. The body comprises an outlet at an outlet end and the stopper is arranged within the body such that a front surface of the stopper and the body define a variable volume chamber from which a fluid can be expelled though the outlet. The plunger comprises a plunger contact surface at a first end and a rod extends between the plunger contact surface and a rear portion. The plunger contact surface is arranged to contact the stopper but not couple thereto, such that the plunger can be used to force the stopper towards the outlet end of the body, reducing the volume of the variable volume chamber, but not to move the stopper away from the outlet end.

The present disclosure relates to a system () for administering a pharmaceutical product. The system comprises a container () accommodating a pharmaceutical product. The container () comprises a wireless communication unit () and a memory () which stores an administration scheme specifically adapted to the pharmaceutical product accommodated in the container (). The administration scheme specifies at least one administration-related parameter to be adhered to in administering the pharmaceutical product to a patient. The system further comprises a wireless communication device () configured to read the administration scheme from the memory () of the container () and to perform at least one action based on the administration scheme.
