The present disclosure includes apparatuses for a surgical reloadable cartridge assembly. An example apparatus includes a blade assembly which comprises leaves and an I-beam. In an example there are two outer leaves and at least one inner leaf. The two outer leaves are connected to the I-beam. The at least one inner leaf is not connected to the outer leaves and is connected to the I-beam with a connection that allows the at least one inner leaf to move relative to the I-beam while not being pulled away from the I-beam when tension is applied to the at least one inner leaf.

Blade assembly for a surgical reloadable cartridge assembly

The present disclosure is directed to a multidirectional apparatus that can be attached to a stapler reload apparatus. The multidirectional apparatus can include at least two articulation elements each comprising a cylindrical proximal end, a hemispherical distal end, a central lumen, a wall surrounding the central lumen, and a first pull wire lumen within the wall surrounding the central lumen, wherein the hemispherical distal end of a first articulation element of the at least two articulation elements is nested in the cylindrical proximal end of a second articulation element of the at least two articulation elements and a first pull wire positioned within the first pull wire lumen, and wherein tension applied to the first pull wire causes the second articulation element to move away from a longitudinal axis of the at least two articulation elements in a direction of the first pull wire which is experiencing the tension.

Multidirectional apparatus

Springs for lockout assemblies, such as for single-use lockout assemblies implemented in reloadable cartridge assemblies of surgical staplers, and associated systems, devices, and methods are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a spring includes (a) a hook portion at a first end portion of the spring opposite the second end of the spring, and (b) a loop portion. In an absence of external force applied to the spring, the loop portion can be generally positioned at a first side of the hook portion opposite the second end portion of the spring such that the hook portion is positioned generally along a plane positioned between the loop portion and the second end portion. In some embodiments, the spring is a leaf spring, includes a cutout extending at least partway between the hook portion and the second end portion, and/or includes a notch at the second end portion.

Springs for lockout assemblies, and associated systems, devices, and methods

The present disclosure includes a surgical buttress or reinforcement for a surgical stapler assembly. The surgical stapler includes an anvil with a tissue contacting surface and a staple cartridge with a tissue contacting surface. The surgical buttress, in either one or two pieces, is releasably secured to the tissue contacting surfaces. The staples are delivered through the surgical buttress to provide a reinforcement for the staples.

An example apparatus includes a non-movable handle, a movable handle configured to be moved away from and into proximity with the non-movable handle, wherein the movable handle comprises a locking protrusion, a selector lever configured to rotate between a locked position and an unlocked position, and a selector cam coupled to the selector lever, wherein the selector cam comprises a surface with a concave locking opening, and wherein the selector cam is configured to rotate in response to the selector lever rotating, wherein, when the movable handle is in proximity with the non-movable handle and the selector lever is in the unlocked position, the surface with the concave locking opening is positioned adjacent to the locking protrusion to lock the movable handle in place.

An example apparatus includes a reloadable cartridge assembly and a surgical handle assembly including an articulation assembly configured to maintain the reloadable cartridge assembly in a first operation position, the articulation assembly comprising a knob in a first position, a lock core coupled to the knob, a housing, a first roller and a second roller, and a first spring, wherein the first roller is positioned on a first end of the first spring and the second roller is positioned on a second end of the first spring, and wherein the first spring is configured to bias the first roller and the second roller between the lock core and the housing to maintain the knob in the first position.

Proximal movement of the toothed rack causes the spring to be compressed and allows for complete opening of the reloadable cartridge assembly.
