A combination of a reusable garment hanger and an indicator for displaying garment-related information is provided. The hanger has an indicator attachment mechanism, which is configured to selectively engage, in a detachable manner, a first indicator or a second indicator that has a dimension different from the dimension of the first indicator. The hanger can be used and reused with different indicators.

A novel garment hanger with an under-notch is provided. The hanger has a hook and an elongated hanger body connected to the hook. The hanger body has a top surface for supporting a garment and an undersurface opposite the top surface. The hanger body has a retaining structure for retaining a portion of the garment. The retaining structure has a cantilever that extends under the undersurface of the hanger body. An under-notch is defined between the undersurface of the hanger body and the cantilever. A portion of the garment, such as a strap of the garment, is insertable into the under-notch to be positively retained in the under-notch.

A hanger includes at least one pinch-grip attached to the hanger for receiving an article for hanging. The pinch-grip includes first and second components extending substantially vertically from the hanger and cooperatively defining a pivot axis, each of the components including an upper end extending above the pivot axis and a lower end extending below the pivot axis. A spring force biases the lower ends together to a closed position and permits separation of the lower ends to an open position by pivotal movement of at least one of the upper ends towards the other upper end. A releasable lock can be activated to hold the lower ends of the components in the open position.

A hanger has a pinch-grip including a pair of vertically-extending components, a biasing spring, and a connector separate and distinct from the biasing spring. The connector pivotably secures together the upper ends of the components for movement, prior to application of the biasing spring to the components, between a substantially unfolded orientation, wherein the components lie in a common plane, and a substantially folded orientation, wherein the components are generally parallel. The connector is integrally molded with the components and configured and dimensioned to lie between the upper ends thereof when the components are in the folded orientation, without substantially inhibiting movement of the upper or lower ends between the closed and open positions.

A pinch-grip hanger includes an attachment portion for securing the hanger to a support and at least one pinch-grip for receiving an article for hanging. The pinch-grip includes a pair of components secured to each other, each component including an end for receiving the article therebetween. The pinch-grip also includes a biasing element for biasing the ends together and for permitting separation of the ends towards a fully extended open position by movement of at least one the components. One of the components includes at least one projection extending towards the other component to inhibit some accidental movement of the pinch-grip towards the fully extended open position while permitting intentional movement of the pinch-grip towards the fully extended open position.

A garment hangers has at least one clamp or pinch-grip formed exclusively of plastic for suspending a garment. The clamp includes an outer portion defining (i) a central aperture therethrough, and (ii) a peripheral gap therethrough communicating with the central aperture, an inner portion defining (i) a body configured and dimensioned to pass through the outer portion central aperture, and (ii) a tab communicating with the inner portion body and configured and dimensioned to pass through the outer portion peripheral gap, and a bight portion biasing the inner portion forwardly relative to the outer portion towards a retaining orientation for retaining a garment disposed at least partially intermediate a front of the inner portion and a rear of the outer portion. The inner portion is rearwardly displaceable by rearward pressure on the inner portion tab to a releasing orientation enabling a garment to pass intermediate a front of the inner portion and a rear of the outer portion.

A garment hanger having an indicia-bearing tab for displaying customer information is provided. A tab holder is integrally formed as part of the hanger. The tab is mounted on an edge of the tab holder, adjacent a ridge formed on the tab holder. The ridge, together with two end members formed on the tab holder on either side of the tab, prevent a consumer from obtaining a finger purchase on the tab. Thus, once the tab is mounted on the tab holder, it cannot be removed without using a tool. The dimensions of the ridge and end members, and their location on the tab holder, may be selected to prevent removal of the tab by hand or by tool.

An improved clamp-type garment hanger includes: a hook, a cross-bar, and at least two clamp assemblies for securing a garment to the garment hanger. Each clamp assembly includes a pair of clamping member, at least one clamping member having an inner clamping surface defined at least in part by at least one gripping pad. A first side of the gripping pad is carried by an inner clamping surface of the one clamping member, and a second side of the gripping pad is presented for contact with a garment to be hung from the garment hanger. The second side is fabricated from gripping friction material, the coefficient of friction thereof being sufficiently high to preclude movement under the weight of the garment when a normal clamping force is applied to two clamping members to move them into clamping position. The gripping pad is secured to, but preferably manually releasable from, the one clamping member for movement as a unit into and from the clamping position.
