A hinge arm assembly for a charge flap arrangement of a motor vehicle includes a housing cap having at least one flexible hinge arm support, a charge flap housing coupled partially with the flexible hinge arm support, a hinge arm with a built-in drive shaft clipped into the housing cap and hold in place with clamping force, an actuator coupled to the built-in drive shaft, and at least one sealing component arranged between the actuator and the housing cap.

The present disclosure refers to a base assembly of an exterior rear view device. The base assembly is configured to be mounted to a vehicle in a way that moveably supports a head assembly of the exterior rearview device. The base assembly comprises: a camera with a lens, a cleaning system with a nozzle for dispensing cleaning fluid onto the lens, a base frame, a base cover that comprises a plurality of cover pieces, and a camera cradle. The cover pieces provide a first opening for the lens and a second opening for the nozzle. The camera cradle is mounted to the base frame for holding both the camera and the nozzle.

An external rearview device for a motor vehicle includes a housing, and one or more of at least one light emitting or a receiving device, including one or more of at least one light producing device or at least one camera device arranged within the housing, and at least one at least partially transparent element closing an opening provided by the housing, the at least partially transparent element being provided in form of a first module attached to the housing, and the one or more of the light producing device or the camera device being provided in form of a second module attached to the first module, the first module and the second module being mechanically releasably coupled.

A rearview device for a vehicle, includes: a moveable mirror head assembly that includes an upper casing element, a lower casing element, and a bezel that carries a mirror glass; a base frame; a motor cradle connected to the upper and lower casing elements; and an actuator assembly attached to the base frame and configured to move the moveable mirror head assembly connected to the articulation assembly via the motor cradle. The actuator assembly is configured to adjust the moveable mirror head assembly inwardly or outwardly and upwardly or downwardly so that movement of the moveable mirror head assembly may be controlled using the actuator assembly to change a field of view in a drive position or to place the moveable mirror head assembly in a park position. The actuator assembly provides a range of angular motion of the moveable mirror head assembly that is greater in the inwardly or outwardly direction than in the upwardly or downwardly direction. Programmable actuator assembly settings for one or more of the field of view in the drive position or the park position of the moveable mirror head assembly are pre-set for selection by a user of the rearview device.

The present disclosure relates to a rear view device for a vehicle with one or more gaskets preventing water or other contaminants from entering the device between components, while allowing the components to move in relation to one another. In embodiments, the rear view device comprises a base adapted to be mounted to a side of the vehicle, a head for supporting at least one means for providing a rearward field of view disposed at a second attachment end of the base, an actuator connected to the second end of the base, and a shroud attached to the actuator, wherein the actuator may rotate the head in relation to the base. In embodiment, a foot gasket is attached to a foot of the base and includes a first lip portion that extends towards the shroud in a vertical direction, and a second soft lip portion that contacts the shroud in a horizontal direction. In embodiments, a head gasket includes a soft lip portion comprising a first end making contact with a face of the shroud, and a hard portion comprising an attachment to a second end of the soft lip portion, wherein the head gasket extends at an angle from the shroud.

An assembly set for assembling an external rearview system for a motor vehicle is provided. The external rearview system when assembled may include a base assembly provided for arrangement on the motor vehicle, and a head assembly attached to the base assembly. The assembly set may include (i) a first head assembly comprising, a first rearview device comprising at least one reflective element in form of a mirror glass, (ii) a second head assembly comprising, a second rearview device comprising at least one reflective element in form of an at least partly translucent mirror glass, and at least one first camera unit being configured to obtain a rearview image through the reflective element, and (iii) a third head assembly with at least one component of a camera monitor system. A rearview device for a motor vehicle includes: a moveable mirror head assembly that includes an upper casing element, a lower casing element, and a bezel that carries a mirror glass; a base frame; a camera secured within a camera cradle that is mounted to the base frame; a motor cradle connected to the upper and lower casing elements; and an articulation assembly attached to the base frame and configured to move the moveable mirror head assembly connected to the articulation assembly via the motor cradle; wherein the camera is positioned to view through at least one of (i) an opening in the bezel through the mirror glass, or (ii) an opening in the lower casing element behind the mirror glass.

An internal multi-function rearview device for use with a vehicle includes a rearview element comprising at least one of a reflective element, a camera, or a display element; a housing configured to be attached to the vehicle and configured to be moveable relative to the vehicle; a bezel configured to be affixed to an opening defined by the housing and configured to surround the rearview element; and a foot configured to be fixed to the vehicle and relative to which the housing and bezel is moveable. The bezel is coated and a coating of the bezel is at least one of a decorative coating, an advanced surface technology, or a spectrally controlling system, and the rearview element is coupled to at least one of the bezel or the housing.

An assembly set for assembling an external rearview system for a motor vehicle is provided. The external rearview system when assembled may include a base assembly provided for arrangement on the motor vehicle, and a head assembly attached to the base assembly. A method of assembling a rearview device comprises providing the rearview device and attaching the actuator assembly to the moveable head assembly using the motor cradle.
