An infusion pump system is disclosed for dispensing liquid medication, such as insulin. The infusion pump system includes a first reservoir for storing liquid medication, a first fluid driver for exerting pressure on the first reservoir, a second reservoir for storing liquid medication, and a second fluid driver for exerting pressure on the second reservoir. One or more valves are used to permit flow of liquid medication from the first reservoir to the second reservoir, and to permit flow of liquid medication from the second reservoir to an infusion site. Each of the valves is selectively opened or closed to fill the second reservoir with liquid medication from the first reservoir and to dispense liquid medication from the second reservoir to the infusion site. A controller and one or more sensors are used to monitor and control the system.

Pump engine with metering system for dispensing liquid medication

An electrochemical actuator drive system and method that provides for full control of an electrochemical pump system having at least three electrochemical actuators, including two valve actuators, and one pump actuator. The driving circuit is based on a standard H-bridge driving circuit wherein part of the circuit is shared among actuators. Because the system only needs to operate either the pump actuator or one of the valve actuators at any given time, part of the H-bridge driving circuit can be shared among the three actuators, thereby permitting the use of four half-bridge driving circuits.

Control circuits for electrochemical pump with E-valves

A fastener driving device includes a fastener driver, a magazine for carrying a supply of fasteners to the fastener driver, a spring that moves the fastener driver through a drive stroke, and a motor configured to move the fastener driver through a return stroke. The motor is operable upon completion of the drive stroke, to move the fastener driver partially through the return stroke a predetermined amount to partially pre-compress the spring. The motor is further operable to fully compress the spring after receiving a signal for the drive stroke.
