Disclosed is an apparatus, including a shaft; a scoop, coupled to a distal end of the shaft, for collecting and holding a bolus of a compressible medium, the compressible medium retaining a post-compressed shape when operated from a proximal end of the shaft; and a former, coupled to the scoop and mating with the scoop, for molding and compressing the bolus into a generally spherical ball retained within the scoop. A method for forming a throwable ball, includes scooping a bolus of a compressible medium with a scoop coupled to a distal end of a shaft, the compressible medium retaining a post-compressed shape; and molding compressively the bolus into the scoop using a former coupled to the distal end, wherein the molding step creates the ball retained in the scoop when a user operates a proximal end of the shaft.

Object forming and launching apparatus and method

A keyboard support system includes a tool-less, adjustable, in-board clamping apparatus for clamping a track to a base. The clamping apparatus includes clamps each having a clamp top slidable relative to and releasably engageable with a clamp bottom to clamp the track and the base therebetween. A clamp knob is adjustable to tighten and secure the clamp top and clamp bottom together. A positioning apparatus includes a slide coupled to the track for horizontal adjustment. The slide is connected to a shuttle which is coupled to an height adjustment arm for vertical height adjustment by an indexing rod. A keyboard tray for holding a keyboard is connected to a tray support which is coupled to the height adjustment arm for pitch adjustment by a guide rod. A clenching mechanism couples the movements of the indexing rod and guide rod and exerts a biasing force to bias the indexing rod and guide rod at selected height and pitch positions. The biasing force of the clenching mechanism is releasable by pulling on the keyboard tray with one hand for moving the indexing rod and guide rod for substantially simultaneous height and pitch adjustment.

Keyboard support system

A keyboard positioning apparatus for supporting a keyboard tray does not require complex mounting mechanisms or drilling holes in the support base such as a desk. A specific embodiment employs a desktop apparatus that includes a tray guide supported on the base and having a pair of spaced guide members. A tray rail has a pair of rail members each slidably engaging one of the pair of spaced guide members to slide between a front and a rear of the rail members. Each rail member has at least two rollers for providing rolling motion of the rail members on the base. The tray is coupled to the tray rail for supporting a keyboard. Another specific embodiment employs a tool-less, adjustable, out-board clamping mechanism for releasably mounting the apparatus underneath the desk without requiring holes to be drilled in the base. The apparatus includes a pair of spaced brackets and a pair of clamps releasably coupling the pair of spaced brackets nondestructively underneath the base. A pair of spaced slide members are each coupled to one of the spaced brackets. The keyboard tray has two sides each slidably coupled to one of the spaced slide members for supporting a keyboard to move in and out beneath the base. The apparatus of the present invention can be easily adapted nondestructively to a variety of support bases such as desks. The apparatus are easy to assemble and can be moved easily without destruction to the desks or similar support bases.

A crimped banana-type electrical connector includes an axially extending male pin having a conductive contact portion and a connector post extending axially from one end of the pin. The stranded or solid core of a wire or wires is positioned along the exposed post and a crimping ferrule placed over the wire and the post. The crimping ferrule is forced radially inward to crimp the wire to the post and, thereafter, an insulating sleeve is placed over the crimped connection to provide a compact and permanent mechanical and electrical connection between the wire and the banana-type pin.

Crimped banana-type electrical connector and method thereof

An electrical connector for effecting connection to `banana` type sockets includes a connector body having an axially elongated male pin extending from one end thereof. A captive, internally threaded collar is located at the proximate end of the pin and is used to threadedly engage the external threads of a mating socket. The other end of the connector body includes an internally threaded bore for receiving a threaded terminal fastener that includes a head portion for securing bifurcated terminal lugs between the end of the connector body and the head of the terminal fastener. A flat side surface is formed on the head of the terminal fastener for engaging the bent free ends of bifurcated terminal lugs. The terminal fastener also includes an axially aligned bore for receiving a male banana-type pin and a diametrically aligned bore for receiving a solid or a stranded core wire so that the wire can be secured between the head of the terminal fastener and the end of the connector body.

Electrical connector

An electrical connector for effecting connection between a wire and a `banana` type socket includes an axially extending male pin divided by a slot(s) into radially expansible contact arm quadrants. A terminal fastener is mounted in threaded engagement on the pin for securing an electrical terminal between the terminal fastener and an annular portion of the pin. An expander element is also mounted in threaded engagement on the pin and includes an expander rod having a frusto conical tip portion that enters and engages a tapered internal bore of the pin to permit the contact arm quadrants to be forced outward to grip the smooth internal bore of the `banana` type socket.
