An electronic device can include a housing defining an aperture, a membrane extending across the aperture, and a non-metallic woven support mesh disposed parallel to the flexible membrane and extending across the aperture. In at least one example, the membrane is acoustically transparent and the membrane is air permeable and water impermeable. In addition, the support mesh can be less flexible than the membrane such that the support mesh structurally supports the membrane.

An electronic device can include a housing, an audio component, and a gasket. The housing can define a first internal volume and the audio component can define a second internal volume. The audio component can include membrane and a venting element having a fluid impermeable layer. The venting element can define a fluid path placing the first internal volume and the second internal volume in fluid communication. At least a portion of the fluid path can extend parallel to the fluid impermeable layer. The gasket can define a seal between the first internal volume and an ambient environment adjacent the housing.

An electronic device can include a housing that defines an internal volume, an aperture defined by the housing, an electronic component disposed within the internal volume and occluding the aperture, and a mesh component disposed against the electronic component. One example of an electronic device can include a housing that defines an internal volume, a port defined by the housing, a speaker module disposed within the internal volume and oriented to move air through the port, and an acoustically transparent mesh covering the port. The mesh can include a raised portion extending at least partially through the port and a flange extending from the raised portion, the flange secured against an internal surface of the housing.
