A system (21) for holding a cord (28, 58) includes a retention device (20) which is adapted to engage a number of elements such as a hooded plug head (22), a handle of a power tool (51), a retainer (62) or a cleat (101). The device (20) includes spaced arms (25, 26) which engage the elements (22, 51, 62 or 101). In the embodiment wherein the element is the hooded plug head (22), the arms (25, 26) may have lugs (38, 39) thereon to engage apertures (42, 43) of the plug head (22) or the arms (25, 26) may be provided with apertures (47, 48) to receive lugs (49) formed on the plug head (22). The lugs (38, 39) and apertures (42, 43) are of the same general predetermined configuration so that when they are aligned with each other, the lugs (38, 39) can pass through the apertures (42, 43) but can thereafter be misaligned so that the device (20) is attached to the plug head (22).

Electrical plug and cord strain relief and coupling device

A system (10) for retaining a plug (11) carried by a cord (12) in a socket (17) of an electrical receptacle (13) includes, in one embodiment, a plate (14) mountable to the receptacle (13). The plate (14) has opposed lugs (19, 20) on each side of the socket (17). The lugs (19, 20) form opposed slots (21, 22) to receive flanges (32, 33) formed on one end of resilient arms (24, 25) of a retainer (15). In one embodiment, a retention device (27) is formed near the other end of the arms (24, 25) to hold the cord (12). A system (50, 80) for covering sockets (17) includes, in one embodiment, a cover plate (52) with deflectable tines (57, 58) received in the opposed slots (21, 22). Shoulders (54, 55) extend from the top of the cover plate to engage a top edge (68) of the lugs (19, 20). Locking head (62) extends from the end of the tines (57, 58) to engage a bottom edge (69) of the lugs (19, 20). In another embodiment, a gap (82) may be provided to separate each lug (19, 20) so that the system (80) may be employed to cover just a single socket (17).

Electrical plug retainer and outlet cover system

An apparatus for activating climate control systems in response to the entry and/or presence of person(s) in a dwelling. An interior sensor apparatus includes a motion or thermal energy detection unit which emits a signal in response to the presence of person(s) within a room. A door entry sensor emits a signal upon entry of person(s) into the dwelling. A climate control unit, such as an air conditioner, has a default temperature setting which is activated upon the expiration of a timing sequence maintained by a timing circuit. The timing circuit is reset upon detection of persons by the motion/thermal detection unit or the door entry sensor.

Climate control sensor apparatus

A system (10) for retaining a plug (11) carried by a cord (12) in a socket (17) of an electrical receptacle (13) includes, in one embodiment, a plate (14) mountable to the receptacle (13). The plate (14) has opposed lugs (19, 20) on each side of the socket (17). The lugs (19, 20) form opposed slots (21, 22) to receive flanges (32, 33) formed on one end of resilient arms (24, 25) of a retainer (15). In one embodiment, a retention device (27) is formed near the other end of the arms (24, 25) to hold the cord (12).

Electrical plug retainer system

A method and means are provided to releasably secure one or more filament lengths in place with a single piece molded polymer clamp device. Said clamp device employs frictional retention means which cooperate with openings to grip the filament or filaments.

Releasable filament clamp

A method and means are provided to retain locked engagement for the plug end of an electrical cord. A coupling device is provided enabling the user to retain locking engagement for the electrically connected cord during ordinary usage.

Electrical cord coupling

Fabric handling apparatus is provided to continuously unwind a fabric sheet being supplied from a supply roll at variable travel speeds for subsequent processing operations. The fabric sheet being unwound is accumulated in storage means enabling the fabric travel speed to be automatically and continuously decreased as fabric is being accumulated while also being automatically and continuously increased as the fabric sheet is being withdrawn from storage.
