A driving accident simulation, having a head-wearable user interface (e.g., a head-worn virtual-reality display), may be used to inform a driver of the driver's potential liability under different insurance options. The simulation may determine damages caused by the simulated accident, and identify multiple insurance options and the resulting user liability under each option. The simulation may also be used to assess an insurance adjuster's ability to estimate damages from an accident, by receiving the adjuster's estimate and comparing it to the simulation's own estimate of damages. In some embodiments, the simulation may present a driver with a simulated view from a point of view of another party to the simulated accident.

Virtual simulation for insurance

Aspects of the present disclosure describe systems, methods, and devices for vehicle mode detection based on acceleration data and location data during a trip detected by mobile devices in a vehicle. According to some examples, location data will be compared to known routeway data to detect a vehicle mode. In other examples acceleration data will be used to calculate the consistency of vehicular velocity during a trip to detect a vehicle mode. In some additional aspects, multiple analyses will be performed on the same data sets to check for false positives with vehicle mode detection.

The simulation may determine damages caused by the simulated accident, and identify multiple insurance options and the resulting user liability under each option. Systems and methods are disclosed for detecting vehicular accidents based on sensor data, such as data from a mobile device in a vehicle or data from the vehicle's sensors. If an accident is detected, the system may determine whether to collect sensor data from additional sources, such as additional vehicle sensors or additional mobile devices (e.g., a pedestrian's mobile device or a mobile device within a vehicle). The system may also determine whether to collect data from traffic devices or from contextual data sources. The data may be used by the system to determine which party is at fault in the accident. The data may also be used to generate a visualization of the accident.

Accident fault detection based on multiple sensor devices

Methods, computer-readable media, software, and apparatuses provide an interactive application, such as a video game, that presents gaming and driving challenges to facilitate improvement of driving skills and development of safe driving behavior. Drive data may be collected while a user is driving a vehicle and the drive data may be used to define a graphically simulated virtual world. A drive score may also be calculated based on the drive data. Portions of the graphically simulated virtual world may be unlocked based on the drive score. Also, attributes of a character within the graphically simulated virtual world may be modified based on the drive score.

Interactive driver development

Aspects of the disclosure relate to processing remotely captured sensor data. A computing platform having at least one processor, a communication interface, and memory may receive, via the communication interface, from a user computing device, sensor data captured by the user computing device using one or more sensors built into the user computing device. Subsequently, the computing platform may analyze the sensor data received from the user computing device by executing one or more data processing modules. Then, the computing platform may generate trip record data based on analyzing the sensor data received from the user computing device and may store the trip record data in a trip record database. In addition, the computing platform may generate user record data based on analyzing the sensor data received from the user computing device and may store the user record data in a user record database.
