A centraliser () for centralising tubing (T) in a bore (B) comprises a body (), one or more blades () extending radially outwards from the body (). One or more of the blades () receives a blade standoff () which is disposed on and extends radially outwards from the blade () with which it is associated. The blade standoff () is configured to space the blade () from the bore (B) and is configured to form a galvanic inhibitor between the blade () and the bore (B).

Centraliser

A centraliser () for use in centralising tubing () in a bore (W) comprises a first end collar (), a second end collar () and a number of elongate strut members (). The strut members () are interposed between the first end collar () and the second end collar () and are circumferentially arranged and spaced around the first end collar () and second end collar (). The strut member () have a first end portion (), a second end portion (), an intermediate portion () and angled wing portions () which extend from the intermediate portion ().

A centralizer comprises two collars that are connected by asymmetric spring bows. The spring bows each comprise two arcs, where the curvature of one arc is inverted with respect to the curvature of the other arc, one being concave and the other convex. The spring bows are in sets that are equidistantly spaced around the circumference of the collars, each set having the same configuration, and the opposite configuration to the spring bows in the other set. Upon insertion into a wellbore, one set of spring bows is therefore compressed before the other set. Upon compression, the deformation of the concave arc leads to mutual deformation of the convex arc, and the spring bows adopt a flatter configuration, enhancing the rotational freedom of the tubular.

A centralizer includes a body having a bore with an axis, the bore being configured to receive a tubular to be centralized, the body having at least one resilient device configured to extend radially from the axis of the bore, wherein the body has at least one collar member extending radially inwards from the centralizer body adjacent to an end of the body. The collars are fixed co-axially in the bore to be resistant to axial movement of the collar member, and can be retained in the body by radially extending a lip formed by forcing material radially inwards into the bore to retain the collar. The body is adapted to receive within the bore an anchoring device for connection to the tubular. The anchoring device is configured to engage the collar member within the bore so that relative movement of the centralizer and the tubular is restricted.
