A cooling system for a belt starter generator, which has at least one housing portion, a plurality of flow apertures integrally formed as part of the housing portion, a heat sink connected to the housing portion, the heat sink cooled by liquid cooling, and a plurality of fins integrally formed as part of the heat sink. A rotor having a shaft is at least partially disposed in the housing portion, and a plurality of slots are integrally formed as part of the rotor. An impeller having a plurality of blades is mounted on the shaft. As the shaft rotates, the rotor and the impeller also rotate, and the blades generate air flow to create a flow path such that air flows between each of the fins, through the flow apertures, and through the slots of the rotor, and through the blades, achieving air cooling of the belt starter generator.

Method and apparatus for active cooling of intake air for a hybrid cooled belt starter generator

An electronic device includes a fork structure having a pair of arms disposed in spaced relation and defining an open-ended channel therebetween. A surface of channel defines a seat opposite the open end. The channel has a width Wat its narrowest section. A rigid wire of an electrical component is disposed in the channel generally adjacent to the seat. The wire has a width Wthat is greater than the width Wso surfaces of the channel at the narrowest section defined by width Winterfere with the wire, preventing the wire from moving towards the open end of the channel. The pair of arms are constructed and arranged to be moved toward each other so as to crimp the wire to the fork structure.

A shroud configured to connect a leadframe to a battery system for a hybrid motor vehicle is provided. The shroud is removably attachable to the leadframe. The shroud has at least one shroud alignment feature, the shroud being removably attached to the leadframe in a predetermined orientation wherein the shroud alignment feature is aligned with a complimentary leadframe alignment feature. The shroud may include a hollow cylindrical portion and at least one connecting feature configured to attach the shroud to the leadframe. The shroud may be provided as part of a connector system that includes the leadframe. In this case, the leadframe is configured to provide an electrical and mechanical connection between a power inverter and the battery system of the electric motor. The leadframe includes at least one leadframe alignment feature that is aligned with the shroud alignment feature.

A method of assembling and sealing a circuit board within a housing includes the steps of placing the circuit board within the housing, filling the space above the circuit board or around the circuit board with a potting material, and then exhausting that cavity of gases during a curing process of the potting material. Exhausting of the gases is performed and accommodated by a vent opening. An access opening is in communication with the vent opening and provides for the injection of sealant to block the vent opening.

A satellite sensor assembly includes a plastic sensor housing that is mounted to a vehicle structure comprised of sheet metal. The sensor housing includes a transversely extending tab that is received within an opening formed in the sheet metal. The tab includes a pair of crush ribs that extend along the length of the tab. The ribs deform as the tab is inserted through the opening to achieve an interference fit. The inference fit serves to hold the housing in place until the housing can be separately fastened to the sheet metal with a fastener.

An air bag sensor module fastening device for a vehicle is provided includes a vehicle mounting structure having an internally threaded member. A sensor is secured to a base for sensing vibrations caused by a crash of the vehicle. The base has an aperture extending therethrough that is aligned with the internally threaded member. The aperture includes a retaining portion. A fastener for securing the base to the vehicle mounting structure has a shaft with a head and a threaded portion opposite the head. The threaded portion is temporarily retained within the retaining portion in a shipping position. The threaded portion has a minor diameter and the shaft portion has a shaft diameter less than the minor diameter. As a result, the shaft will not be in an interference fit relationship with the retaining portion so that the compressive load of the fastener alone secures the base to the vehicle mounting structure. The threaded portion is disposed outside of the retaining portion in an installed position in which the threaded portion is received in the internally threaded member to secure the base to the vehicle mounting structure. In this manner, the threaded portion will engage only the internally threaded member so that the base is secured to the vehicle mounting structure by the compressive load of the fastener alone.
