A lighting device suitable for promoting plant growth, said lighting device comprising:&#x2014;(i) a first group of LEDs comprising a plurality of LEDs adapted to generate a first emission spectrum having a peak between 450-460 nm (royal blue light); (ii) a second group of LEDs comprising a plurality of LEDs adapted to generate a second emission spectrum having a peak between 630-670 nm (crimson light); (iii) a third group of LEDs comprising a plurality of LEDs adapted to generate a third emission spectrum having a peak between 720-740 nm (cherry red light); (iv) a fourth group of LEDs comprising a plurality of LEDs adapted to generate white light; wherein the intensity of the light output generated by each group of LEDs is adjustable independently of the other groups.

Horticultural lighting device

According to some embodiments a system may control connected modules within a lighting fixture. The system may comprise a power supply that includes a first input to receive AC power, a second input to receive a control signal, and an output to transmit DC power. A light emitting diode (LED) array may receive DC power from the power supply. A master control unit may receive DC power from the power supply. The master control unit may comprise a first control line to send a control signal to the power supply to control the LED array and a second control line to control one or more modules. The system may further comprises one or more connectors mounted to a circuit board where at least one of the one or more connectors is electrically coupled to the output of the power supply and the second control line.

System for efficient communication and control for connected modules in lighting fixtures

A luminaire component for use in a luminaire, said component comprising:&#x2014; The invention also extends to a luminaire bezel containing one or more sensors, where the bezel is removably attachable to the luminaire. The sensor(s) can measure one or more environmental characteristics and electrical and signal contacts between the bezel and the luminaire are provided. Preferably the electrical and signal contact means is cableless.

Sensor arrangements

An electronic 2-way communication module suitable for 2-way communication with a luminaire is disclosed. The module may be installed into the power supply to the luminaire, and includes a housing assembly, live and neutral power input terminals, live and neutral power output terminals, a power supply unit, a dimmer unit controller, a wireless communication interface adapted to receive data/operating instructions and to relay data to a remote repository, and a wired connection between the electronic 2-way communication module and the luminaire. The wired connection may provide the 2-way transmission of data between the module and the luminaire and vice versa.

Communication module

Lighting modules and systems including a heat sink are generally disclosed. The exemplary embodiments include a lighting module having a light emitting diode (LED) board including at least one LED, a heat sink in thermal communication with the LED board for dissipating heat generated by at least the LED board, and a separate component board that is thermally insulated from the LED board and may include, for example, an LED driver, a power management component, a power conversion component, an LED control component, and a dimming component. At least one of the LED board and component board may be a printed circuit board (PCB).

LED lamps and luminaires

A downlight assembly comprising:&#x2014;(i) a mounting ring having a tubular body with an opening at a rear, the mounting ring being formed from a material that withstands temperatures used for fire rating tests and having a lower peripheral annular flange extending outwardly from a bottom end of the tubular body, and an upper peripheral annular flange extending inwardly from an upper end of the tubular body, said upper peripheral annular flange enabling the rear of the mounting ring to be substantially closed if required; (ii) a solid state lighting element comprising one or more LEDs mounted on a circuit board formed from a material having a melting point lower than 1000 degrees C.; (iii) a heat sink formed from a material having a melting point lower than 1000 degrees C. and being in thermal contact with the solid state lighting element and located substantially outside the mounting ring; and (iv) intumescent material wherein the intumescent material is adapted to expand to fill or occlude the tubular body in the event of a fire.

The present system provides a sensor clip system that can be clipped to luminaires of a plurality of shapes and sizes and method of using the sensor clip. Some of the sensors are upward looking (into the luminaire) while others are downward looking (away from the luminaire); and thus face in substantially opposite directions. The sensor clip is adjustable in one, two or three dimensions to be able to easily fit with different sized and shaped luminaires, such that the upward looking sensors may face the incoming light and downward looking sensors face away from the light. The sensor clip system may also provide attenuation of the luminous intensity of the emitted light coming out of the luminaires and extends the longevity and usability of the embedded sensor.

Sensor clip and method of using

An LED downlight lighting module is provided including an LED module having one or more single LEDs on a first printed circuit board, a heat sink, and a second printed circuit board. In an embodiment, the first printed circuit board is in good thermal contact with the heat sink such that heat from the LEDs is dissipated through the heat sink. In an embodiment, the second printed circuit board is adapted to accommodate a power and control circuitry for the LEDs, and is thermally insulated from the heat sink and from the first printed circuit board, and thus from the LED module. According to an aspect, the LEDs serve as the principal heat generating component on the printed circuit board, thus helping to increase the light output from the LEDs and/or increase the lifespan of the LED downlight lighting module.

Adjustable sensor clip

A system and method for discovering at least one dimming control protocol installed in a plurality of lighting devices and for controlling a plurality of dimming levels of the plurality of lighting devices are disclosed. The system may include at least one gateway that connects to at least one plurality of luminaires and/or LED's, at least one sensor subsystem and at least one power meter. The system and method may exchange information between a plurality of light devices and a self-organized, self-discovering gateway device. The gateway may use one or more known control protocols as an input and is able to handle multiple light devices that support different control protocols. This ability makes the gateway a universal lighting control gateway.

Dimming gateway auto discovery system

An electronic 2-way communication module suitable () for 2-way communication with a luminaire () is disclosed. This is adapted to be installed in series into the power supply () to the luminaire, and it has (i) a housing assembly; (ii) live and neutral power input terminals; (iii) live and neutral power output terminals; (iv) a power supply unit; (v) a dimmer unit controller; (vi) a wireless communication interface adapted to receive data/operating instructions and to relay data to a remote repository; and (vii) a wired connection between said electronic 2-way communication module and said luminaire adapted for the 2-way transmission of data between the module () and the luminaire () and vice versa. This electronic 2-way communication module provides for the first time the ability not only to control a luminaire remotely but also to transmit data wirelessly from a luminaire to a remote repository, using a module that is simply wired in series with a cable supplying power to said luminaire.
